I remember hearing that the “Dying Mimsie” variant from MTM Enterprises on the series finale on St. Elsewhere might have been banned, as a result of TV stations being bombarded with numerous letters, calls and complaints from viewers, fans, and even guest stars and children, as well as cat owners. After the series finale aired, the variant was immediately taken down. It was banned and replaced with the normal credits thereafter. A possible reason for this variant is because some employee found the news that Mimsie had been in bad health and made this just in case if her illness had worsened. Then, a couple months later, Mimsie would actually pass away. It was rumored that not only the flatline marks Mimsie’s death, but also that St. Elsewhere came to an end.
