The 1979 logo is sure a favorite in the logo community, including me, due to its longevity, omnipresence in films and music. Orion just introduced a logo this day, and it has elements of the 1979 logo, basically because MGM relaunched Orion as a division with similar target audiences to Searchlight Pictures of some sort. so what are your thoughts on this? Asking myself, this is a bit too Tencent-y, which features the previous logo transforming into the current logo (ironically, I did both the descriptions on Tencent and Orion's current logos). The music however, is great, and the visuals, which are a perfect mix of 2D and 3D. It's also a great way to introduce the new MGM byline to Orion, having appeared in the American International Pictures logo earlier. However, it's a bit tiny, so it's not instantly readable for a lot. |
