Background

FromSoftware, Inc. is a Japanese video game development and publishing company based in Tokyo. It was founded by Naotoshi Zin in November 1986. Their notable franchises include King's Field, Armored Core and Dark Souls. Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of the Dark Souls series, has served as FromSoftware's representative director and president since 2014.

1st Logo (1994)


Logo: On a purple/yellow background, a white "FS" zooms out with trail effects. A flash occurs, and "FS" turns 3D and cyan while it fades into a starfield. Once space is revealed, the text "FROM SOFTWARE" is formed below.

Technique: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: Dreamy synth tune, along with a whoosh.

Availability: Seen on King's Field.

2nd Logo (1997-)


Logo: Over a black bacgkround, we see "FROM SOFTWARE" in a white, bold font.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on many of their games starting with Armored Core.
