GLV Video

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Logo (1986-1987)

Visuals: On a black background, a shape is seen zooming out, emitting some trails, turning red. Another shape zooms out, but on top, also emitting some trails, turning red again. Some of two pink shapes zoom out with trails. A spotlight-esque triangle zooms out, emitting some trails, and it turns into a "pupil", forming the eye (kinda looking like the Zaku's eye from Gundam). The pupil changes colors, then "G V" zooms out with trails respectively. The red line is seen expanding to form the "L", to form "GLV". A white rectangular box border draws itself to surround the eye. The orange rectangular box zooms out with trails, the red rectangular box draws itself to surround "GLV". The brown rectangular box moves around inside the orange rectangular box before it disappears, and then the logo cuts to the warning screen.

Trivia: The brown box in the orange box outline was meant to be a guide for the light effect, but the makers never left it out for some reason.

Technique: Scanimation.

Audio: A dark and dramatic synth fanfare with some synth sounds ("Spiral" by Vangelis), which also includes higher pitched versions of Jean-Michel Jarre's "Ethnicolor 1" and "Wooloomooloo" mixed together.

Availability: It was seen only on Zhteitaipsifos and Dyo Kokoria kai oi Kokotes....
