Background

Gentleman Film International was a Tamil-language film production company fronted by K.T. Kunjumon.

Logo (August 23, 1996-March 5, 1999)

Visuals: Over a blue sky, a blue disc is shown facing upwards as it begins to rotate and zoom back to the center while the letters of "GENTLEMAN" appear emitting rays. Afterwards, the letters of "FILM" with a golden border appear at the bottom of the disc, and the disc settles while "INTERNATIONAL" in black zooms out below the logo. Rays then come out from the center of the disc, revealing a picture of the Virgin Mary and Child (depicted as Our Lady of Good Health) over a brighter blue section with the sun shown behind it from above. Afterwards, the screen cuts to a video of K.T. Kunjumon doing a praying pose, and at the right, the yellow texts "GENTLE MAN", "K.T. KUNJUMON", and "P R E S E N T S", with the third text separated by two vertical lines, fades in aligned in this order. The text then disappears and changes to its Tamil translation.

Technique: CGI animation for the first half; live-action and superimposed effects for the second half.

Audio: An arpeggiating synth sequence, which leads to a 4-note dramatic fanfare that repeats twice, ending with a triumphant note.

Availability: The logo can be seen in Kadhal Desam, Ratchagan, and Endrendrum Kadhal.
