Background

Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service developed by Google and launched on April 24, 2012. It allows users to store files on Google's servers, synchronize files across devices, and share files. It offers 15 gigabytes of free storage, sharing it with Gmail and Google Photos. As of 2018, Google Drive had over a billion active users, and as of 2015, it had over a million organizational paying users.

1st Screen (2014?-2020)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a triangle made up of green, yellow, and blue parallelograms. At the bottom, there is the Google logo in gray.

Variant: Originally, the background was darker, and the old Google logo was used.

Technique: A digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: It can be seen when you start the Google Drive app on a tablet or phone on versions until 2020.

2nd Screen (2020-)

Visuals: Similar to the previous screen; however, the Google Workspace wordmark is at the bottom instead, and the logo is redesigned to have tints on its points, with its bottom right one being red. The logo is also animated; it increases its thickness until it reaches its actual. There is also a colorless copy of the logo behind it.

Variants:

  • If the device is on dark mode, the background will be gray.
  • A still variant exists on some devices.

Technique: A digital graphic, or 2D computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: It can be seen when you start the Google Drive app on a tablet or phone.
