Background

Google Play Books (formerly Google eBooks) is an ebook digital distribution service operated by Google, part of its Google Play product line. Launched on December 6, 2010, it allows users to purchase and download ebooks and audiobooks from Google Play, which offers five million titles. It is currently available on Android, iOS, and the web.

Screen (201?-)

Visuals: This is just the Google Play Books logo (a navy rounded play button symbol with a blue bookmark on it) on a white (if the device is on light mode) or gray (if the device is on dark mode) background. The "Google Play" wordmark is at the bottom of the screen.

Variant: Until 2023, the play button symbol was less rounded, and a blue book was in it in place of the giant bookmark.

Availability: Seen when you open the Google Play Books app on a tablet or a phone.
