Background

This is Mark Johnson's production company. It is named after the Gran Vía, one of the most important streets of the city of Madrid, Spain.



1st Logo (September 25, 2001-May 4, 2004)

Visuals: On a black background is the company name in a white/light green gradient color.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on The Guardian.

2nd Logo (January 17, 2006-February 17, 2008)


Visuals: On a white background is a olive brick wall with a sign with the company name on it in the Univers font.

Variant: On Love Monkey, the logo shares the screen with the 34 Films logo.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the show or a six-note tribal drumbeat.

Availability: Seen on Love Monkey and the first four episodes of Breaking Bad.

3rd Logo (February 24, 2008-)


Visuals: There is an image of a city, then the camera zooms out to reveal a sign on a wooden wall with a sign with the name on it in the Twentieth Century font, similar to before.

Trivia: The image of the buildings makes reference to the aforementioned Gran Vía, one of the most important streets of the city of Madrid, Spain.

Variants:

  • There exists a still version.
  • A shortened version exists.
  • On the Better Call Saul episodes "Nippy", "Breaking Bad" and "Waterworks", the logo is in black-and-white to fit those episodes' themes.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A theme with a gong and castanets (composed by Dave Porter), the closing theme of the show, or silence.

Audio Variant: On season 1 of Breaking Bad, the theme from the previous logo is used.

Availability: Can be seen on Breaking Bad starting with episode 5 of season 1, Shut Eye, Battle Creek, Rectify, Better Call Saul, Halt and Catch Fire, Lucky Hank and the adaptations of Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches. This does not appear on The Holdovers.
