Background

Huhu Studios is a New Zealand animation studio best known for its work on 2009-2015 episodes of VeggieTales. It was founded in 1996.

1st Logo (October 3, 2008-March 3, 2015)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a yellow and black huhu beetle fly in and slightly scuttle up next to the company name, which consists of the name "huhu", in dark blue, some kind of handwritten font and a golden spiral going through the second "h", above the word "STUDIOS", also in dark blue and in a futuristic font. Below the beetle and the logo is the black, handwritten text "animation with character".

Variant: The logo can sometimes be still on some shows.

Technique: Possibly CGI.

Audio: None or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on most productions, such as Turbo Dogs and the vast majority of Huhu-animated VeggieTales episodes from 2009 to 2015.

2nd Logo (2013-??)

Visuals: The sequence starts with a white background with six paint splotches, in blue, cyan, green, red, orange and yellow. An anthropomorphic huhu beetle named Hubert flies onscreen with a fire hose and a tank attached to his back. He grabs the hose and jumps to the right side of the screen before turning the hose on. He hoses the paint off, revealing the company name. After the paint is hosed off, Hubert clicks a button on the water tank strap which detaches and he throws the tank and hose away before the text zooms in and he moves to the left side of the logo, "presenting" it. The hose and tank reappear onscreen, spraying water everywhere and getting Hubert wet, in which he clutches onto the "H". Once the tank and hose is gone, Hubert shakes and wipes himself dry before flying off the "H" and onto the other side of the logo, standing and crossing his top arms as "STUDIOS" drops down under "uhu".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The sequence starts with an orchestral fanfare, which transitions into a cartoony xylophone rhythm as Hubert washes the paint off (with instances of a trumpet playing), which slowly transition into an orchestral piece. The same cartoony music plays as the water tank reappears before ending with a majestic fanfare. There are also accompanying sound effects such as the hose tap being opened, spraying water and wings flapping.

Availability: Was uploaded to their Vimeo in 2013. It is unknown if it has appeared onscreen on any of their productions, but it is the basis for their current print logo.

3rd Logo (2018-)

Visuals: On a black background, the large green text "Huhu" shines in. "STUDIOS", a line, and "NEW ZEALAND" soon follow below. The logo slowly fades out.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: First appeared on a Vimeo reel, and later made its official debut on Mosley.
