ITI Cinema

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Background

This was the movie production division of the largest Polish media conglomerate Grupa ITI, founded in 1984. Until 2004, the company acted also as a home video distributor.

1st Logo (2001-2004)

Visuals: On a dark blue background, transparent copies of the ITI logo zoom out, rotate and merge together into one. The logo emits small rays for a second, while "CINEMA" which is placed below is formed by light/dissolving effects. The text "GRUPA ITI" which is underneath "CINEMA", appears via "blur" effect.

Variants:

  • On video releases, the finished logo fades to the warning screen, which then flips to the ITI Home Video logo at the end.
  • Sometimes, below the logo, there was a white parallelogram with the text "GRUPA ITI HOLDINGS". This version was first seen on early ITI Cinema releases with this logo.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A series of whooshing and bang sounds.

Availability: Seen on VCDs and DVDs by ITI, as well as on movies at the time (this was a defacto home video logo shared with ITI Cinema at the time). It was seen on Magiczna Gwiazda.

2nd Logo (February 13, 2004-2013)

Visuals: On a white background, three parallelograms with one colored in gold and two in grey fly around. Then, a giant gray filmstrip flies and covers them, until revealing the new ITI shield logo. Next to it, the text "cinema" in Arial Italic wipes in. The ITI logo shines afterwards.

Variants:

  • Some movies, have the word "cinema" in smaller, bold lettering.
  • There is an early version where the filmstrip is replaced with a giant gray parallelogram. The stacked text "film studio" replaces "cinema", and the colors are darker than usual. This was spotted on Nigdy w zyciu!.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth fanfare.

Availability: Found on later movies produced by the company, such as Nigdy w zyciu! and Katyn.
