Background

Japan System Supply Ltd. was a Japanese Osaka-based publisher and developer that was established on September 25, 1985 and went defunct sometime in October of 2000.

1st Logo (1996)

Visuals: On a black background and in red, there is a cat head with black ears, a black bowtie and two black eyes, one of which is in the shape of an "X", inside of a circle that is in turn inside a ring that has a fish pattern. Outside of the design is the text "JAPAN★SYSTEM★SUPPLY", in a Super Mario-like font, wrapping around the design in a "U"-like shape, fade in. The cat head then moves to the left to meow, its "X" eye turning into a circular eye while doing so, before returning to its original position and, in the case of the "X" eye, its original shape.

Technique: 2D sprite animation.

Audio: A synthesized "meow" sound.

Availability: Seen only on the unreleased Virtual Boy game Bound High!, which was slated for a 1996 release before being cancelled due to the Virtual Boy's failure, although a prototype of the game was dumped online by members of the Planet Virtual Boy forums on May 3, 2010.

2nd Logo (February 21, 1997, November 27, 1998-July 1999)

Visuals: The screen fades in from white to see, in black-and white and on a gray background, an oval containing a new rendition of the cat head from the previous logo above the text "DIGIPΛRK", which, in turn, is above the text "JAPAN SYSTEM SUPPLY" below it. The logo then fades out to white.

Variant: A colored variant with different text in the oval is used for Power Quest. The background is white, the oval is a navy blue, the cat head is white with black ears and outlines, the bowtie is red and the text, in white and below the cat head, reads "JAPAN SYSTEM SUPPLY", with "SUPPLY" being directly below the bowtie.

Technique: Simple fading effects.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Chalvo 55 and Power Quest.

3rd Logo (December 6th, 1997-1999)

Visuals: On a black background, there is the company's logo, which consists of a gradient indigo oval with the white cat head from the previous logos and the text "Japan System Supply", in the same arrangement as the previous logo's variant, appear. After a few seconds, the cat head then meows, moving its head up and from left to right before returning to its original position.

Variant: A slightly quicker and smoother-looking variant is used for Chameleon Twist 2.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A chime sound effect when the logo appears, along with a cat meow.

Availability: Seen on at least two titles, which are Chameleon Twist and its sequel.
