Background

Jornal da Cultura ("Culture News" in English) is a long-running Brazilian TV program currently running on TV Cultura. It first aired on 29 December 1986 under the direction of Hamilton Tramontá. Currently, the program is hosted by the Brazilian TV Host Willian Corrêa. On the normal schedule, the TV Program runs everyday except for weekends.

1st Intro (1986-1988)

Visuals: Over a black & white gradient background, there is a spinning silver cel globe. A 3D silver rectangle zooms out, and fills up. Two horizontal bars wipe onto the rectangle, and the black text "JORNAL DA" with a white shadow behing fade in above the bars. The white word "CULTURA" zooms out below, and two olive bars slide in from the left & right, filling up the missing bars, as the text "JORNAL DA" turns white.

2nd Intro (1988-1989)

3rd Intro (1989-1991)

4th Intro (1991-1999)

Visuals: On a blue & black gradient background, many flattened silver rectangles rotate and connect a segmented cube. A white sphere flies through it, making a segmented hole, while the silver text "JORNAL DA CULTURA" flies in and tilts with the segmented cube.

Variants: In the 60 Minutos variant, after a sphere creates a hole, it comes back as the segmented cube goes to the upper-left corner. A white number 6 comes out of the sphere, and the name "JORNAL DA CULTURA" fades in above. The sphere partly fills up with a clockwise effect.

6th Intro (2000-2002)

Visuals: There is many live-action clips with some bars moving, with the text "MUNDO POLITIO" (with the globe replacing the first "O"). A white globe with a black landmass zooms out, and the bars reveal a black bar with the black word "JORNAL" on them and "da CULTURA" with a white shadow. The globe stops at the South America map, and gets superimprosed on the black square. Red and black lines can be seen above and below, respectively.

7th Intro (2002-2004)

Visuals: Over a tan background, a tan globe with a brown landmass spins and a red line sping around it. As it stops and forms a red letter "J" with letter's upper side extended, the white text "ornal da cultura" appears letter by letter.

The shape spins and reveals a white TV Cultura logo, which does the same action in the white word "DA"

13th Intro (2011-2013)

Visuals: There are many orange-ish bars, with some of them revealing a globe and many news-related words in white. Afterwards, many bars slide in from the left with a part of the globe superimprosed on them. Some news-related words in white wipe in at various bars, and the bars fly off-screen to reveal a globe with the text "JORNAL DA CULTURA" (with the word "DA" in a red square) in white next to it.

Variants:

  • On the Saturday edition, white words "EDIÇÃO DE SÁBADO" can be revealed.
  • Sometimes, a white word "INFORMA" is revealed on a red bar.

14th Intro (2013-2017)

Visuals: Over a yellow gradient background, many silver diagonal bars cross and reveal a silver TV Cultura logo spinning, as a light on it reveals a silver segmented sphere. The blue letters "JC" along with "JORNAL DA CULTURA" in black, wipe in as the white bars with many white polygons occur.

Variants: On debates, the logo and black word "DEBATE" reveal themselves with a segmented sphere slightly seen on the background.

15th Intro (2017-2019)

Visuals: Over a shots of a spinning globe with signals sending from various directions, white bars cross themselves and reveal a city background with silver letters "JC" zoom out. The text "JORNAL DA CULTURA" fades in and zooms out letter by letter, while some bars fade in below.

Variants: On the Saturday edition, the white phrase "EDIÇÃO DE SÁBADO" wipe in next to the logo.
