Background Trivia: "AET" is meant to be pronounced as "Eight", which later became the network's branding name.


KAET

1st Logo (1986-1995)

Nickname: "Brown Marble"

Logo: Against a dull brown marble background, we see "KAET" in a giant gold typewriter font. Below that is "PHOENIX", in a much smaller font, but the same type, and above that is "A special presentation from", in the same font, even smaller, and italicized.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Possibly extinct. Some old Arizona Collection series tapes from KAET may have it.

2nd logo (1988-1990)

Logo: On a black background, we see a colored lines wiping from left to right and then again, it then moves and then crashes into a 5 segment colored lines. The "8" and "KAET P H O E N I X" appears below.

FX/SFX: The lines wiping and crashing.

Music/Sounds: A piano-sounding tune.

Availability:extinct, used as a local ID.

Nickname: "Ei8ht"

Logo: Against a maroon background with several gold "waves", a maroon rectangle with the PBS logo and "ei8ht" written on it in gold, turns into place. "A special presentation from" is written above.

FX/SFX: The waves and the logo turning.

Music/Sounds: A rather tense piano/string sounder.

Availability: Currently in use; seen on Arizona Stories, which can be seen on both KAET and KUAT in Tucson, Arizona. DVDs of said show may also carry the logo. This also appeared on NETA programs from Sacred Earth, including the eponymous program and Echoes of Creation.
