1st ID (1975-1976)

Visuals: Over a black background, the logo starts with the NBC abstract N with "ksbw-tv" to the right of it. Under it is "Salinas-Monterey".

Technique: Unknown

Audio: Unknown

Availability: The only known remains of this ID comes from a Logopedia page.

2nd ID (1979-1980s)

Visuals: Both versions are based on NBC's Proud as a Peacock campaign:

  • On a space background, "KSBW-TV 8" appears zooming in letter-by-letter with a yellow trailing effect. Then the newly redesigned NBC peacock appears and spreads its wings over the text, which fades out.
  • "KSBW-TV" in white slides in from the left, and "8" alongside "Salinas/Monterey" slides in from the right. The text shifts down as the peacock appears and spreads its wings. "WE'RE PROUD" wipes in with a blue sparkle effect below.

Technique: The text appearing, the peacock forming. [possible misuse]

Audio: A variant of the Proud as a Peacock jingle. The first version has the chorus singing "KSBW-TV 8!" The second has the chorus singing "TV 8, Proud as a Peacock!".

3rd ID (1985)

4th ID (1986-1987)

Visuals: On a gray marble background, an orange "8" zooms in, with "KSBW-TV" also in orange zooming out below the 8. "Salinas/Monterey" in white then fades in below. The logo shines.

Technique: Just the "8" and station name zooming into/out to place.

Audio: Unknown

5th ID (1987-1991)
