Background

Kingpin Video LLC was founded in 1990 and was one of the first regular representatives of PM Entertainment Group. The company also had a children's division, Kingpin Kids, to distribute children's titles. On October 28, 1991, one of the main partners Marcela Silvia Scialino resigned, and it had representation in Uruguay to distribute titles through the Kingpin Video Uruguay SRL label. The company quietly went defunct in 1992.

Logo (1990-1992)

Visuals: On a space-esque background, a yellow crown flies and flips in from the left side of the screen as a red throne with a TV screen carved onto the bottom crawls down and a line crawls up. The crown flies onto the top of the throne, and the camera zooms into the TV until only the background is visible and the text "KINGPIN VIDEO", which is giant, red, and has a crown on top of the "KINGPIN"'s "I", zooms in. The crown then briefly becomes a grey, differently-designed crown, and the logo zooms out to reveal a blue background before the text "PRESENTA", in dark blue, scrolls up.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: The jingle from the 1985 Teleac logo and the last note of the music from the Charter Entertainment logo.

Availability: Seen on B-movies and children's titles distributed by them on videocassette, some examples including Drug Wars: The Camarena Story, Evils of the Night and Teen Wolf.
