Background

Kinomost (КиноМост; transcripted as CinemaBridge) was a Russian movie and television production company and the subsidiary of MediaMost holding company, which was liquidated in 2001. The studio was then split up into Makdos, DomFilm and Avrora.

1st Logo (1998-2000)

Visuals: On a black background, a morning sky fades into view as an silhouette of a steppe eagle flies towards the camera, with a mountainous terrain at the bottom. The sun then rises from the right, illuminating the eagle as it swoops to the right slightly. The eagle then freezes when it looks directly into the camera as the scene becomes letterboxed, and the golden text "КиноМост" appears as glass letters first, before cross fading to its gold color. The logo then fades to an different print logo: a giant pair of silver letters "KM" tilted slightly upwards, with an abstract gold eagle symbol over the letters. The logo shrinks into the upper left corner of the screen, as occasionally additional producer credits appear in the blank space.

Variant: A 16:9 version exists.

Technique: Chroma-keyed live action and CGI.

Audio: A bell toll followed by a soft and peaceful theme consisting of bells, violins, oboe and an accordion, before suddenly segueing into a majestic fanfare. The theme is actually a re-orchestration of "Prelude: Dawn over the Moscow River" from Khovanshchina, by Modest Mussorgsky.

Availability: Can be seen on some films like President and his Granddaughter. Also seen at the opening of some TV series.

2nd Logo (2000-2001)

Visuals: On a black background, black-coated morning clouds wipe into view, with light rays eventually poking out of the top of the clouds. Gold-tinted footage of an African fish eagle eagle then fades in and flies in slow-motion, with motion blur added to it, and the footage fades to black before a translucent white filmstrip fades in and emits gold squares from each of its sprockets, revealing a clearer version of the eagle footage before the square eventually rearrange themselves into a rounded rectangular shape with a white outline, and the sky also returns in a darker shade. Parts of the footage are then cut away as it glows with white, first the edges and then a large square from the lower left corner, and the corner piece fades to white. It flashes an ethereal glow and a diamond-shaped portion is wiped away to form an abstract "KM", as well as revealing the eagle symbol from before and turning a light yellow color. Sprocket holes appear on the "K" and "КиноМост" wipes in below. The sky background can also be seen in a dark blue tint before it fully fades away. The logo then moves up into the upper left corner like before to make room for additional credits as it fades to a gold color, and then the eagle flashes in-sync with the final note of the music.

Technique: Live-action and computer animation.

Audio: Same as before.

Availability: Seen on the DVD sets of some television series well-known in Russia.
