Background
Lighthearted Entertainment is a television production company founded in 1992. They produce live and reality shows.
1st Logo (August 10-September 18, 1992)
Visuals: On a sky background with clouds floating on the bottom, "ENTERTAINMENT" with a shadow effect is seen. "LIGHTHEARTED" comes out of said word individually, briefly bouncing up and down before stopping.
Technique: 2D animation.
Audio: The ending theme of the show.
Availability: Only seen on Bedroom Buddies.
2nd Logo (June 27, 1994-September 19, 1997)
Visuals: On a black background, a partial outline of a lightbulb and a line, both of which are yellow, are drawn. Shortly before finishing, the bulb's support wire and "Lighthearted" in a drawn font, both in red, appears. After "ENTERTAINMENT" fades in below the line, the support wire glows.
Variant: On Jones and Jury, the logo is set on a blue-dark blue gradient background.
Technique: 2D animation.
Audio: The ending theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on Goodnight America, The George & Alana Show, and The Big Date.
3rd Logo (April 1, 1999-September 30, 2002)
Visuals: On a sky background, the light bulb's support wire is shown from above before the camera rotates and pans out, revealing the lightbulb and a growing spark in the center. Underneath it, "Lighthearted" forms by gaining fill and thickness, alongside the yellow underline drawing from the right and "ENTERTAINMENT" appearing in the same animation as said word.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Five chimes that ends with both a low and high note played at once. Otherwise, it's the ending theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on Happy Hour and Sex Wars.
- It was also seen on a February 9, 2001 airing of Sex Wars on affiliate KPIX, which is then followed by the 1996 MGM Domestic Television Distribution logo.
4th Logo (December 11, 2002-July 16, 2007)
Visuals: On a black background, a gold curved path is drawn, which rotates and reveals a lightbulb and its path. Its path covers up the center of the lightbulb before following the curve over to the left outline of said object; this animation reveals a heart shaped support wire. It stops, causing it and the support wire to glow. Also happening during this sequence is "lighthearted ENTERTAINMENT" in white wiping in and gaining brightness as the gold path stops moving.
Technique: 2D flash animation.
Audio: The ending theme of the show or a chime theme.
Availability: Seen on Extreme Makeover and MTV's Next.
5th Logo (January 23, 2008-)
Visuals: On a black background, the heart-shaped support wire from before is glowing. Zooming out is a black fill of the lightbulb glowing orange colors. Once it stops, a yellow glow emerges and draws the object's light reflection alongside its metal cap in gray. Simultaneously, "lighthearted" zooms out with a burst effect that dies down, becoming white while still having its glow intact. After all of this, "ENTERTAINMENT" fades in below the company name.
Variants:
- A still version exists, where the logo has no glow.
- On Dating Naked, the text has a yellow glow.
- On season 8 of Are You the One?, the logo appears within the end credits.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: A held synth note and then a click sound. Before the lightbulb's reflection is done drawing, a ding sound is heard. Otherwise, it's the ending theme of the show.
Availability: It first appeared on The Moment of Truth and later appeared on Are You the One?, Dating Naked, and Ready to Love. Some credits of Are You the One? do not include this logo.
