New Line Cinema/Trailer Variations
This article covers logos that contain graphic violence or gore. They are hidden behind spoilers. |
These are the logo variations seen on trailers throughout the years by New Line Cinema, with more to be added over time.
The Mask (1994): The blue glow around the box and filmstrips has a somewhat purple tone to it.
Dumb and Dumber (1994): The 1987 logo is darker than normal and has a somewhat white tone to it. Only on the theatrical trailer. The actual movie would be the first to use the second variation of the 4th logo.
Dark City (1998): The logo is tinted in pistachio color and placed on a nighttime sky.
Little Nicky (2000): The filmstrip is covered with fire, and the glow turns hellish red. Only on the teaser trailer.
The Cell (2000): On the teaser trailer, the glow surrounding the logo is gold.
On the theatrical trailer, the logo gets messed up a bit, eventually adding footage that has a New Line Cinema-like background with huge filmstrips zooming out.
Bamboozled (2000): On the theatrical trailer, images of African American figurines are seen within the logo. The logo then reverses in warp speed.
Sugar & Spice (2001): Diane Weston (portrayed by Marley Shelton) is seen within the logo.
15 Minutes (2001): The logo is recorded on a video camera.
Jason X (2001): The logo flies off to space.
Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002): The logo is in a urobilin color.
John Q (2002): A video featuring some flames burning is seen within the logo.
Cheats (2002): The logo is written on a chalkboard.
Friday After Next (2002): The logo is in a green/bright red color scheme.
How to Deal (2003): The logo is normal, but start is Speed and later spinning.
Highwaymen (2003): The logo is static and rumbles real fast. Also, the logo is sped up and animates in reverse.
Secondhand Lions (2003): On a Pax TV promo advertising the movie's release, the logo is in 2D and has a white outline. Also, the logo is on the right side of the screen and shares space with the Pax print logo. An orange filmstrip with scenes from the movie appears on the left side of the screen.
Elf (2003): Same as the movie itself, but with the AOL Time Warner byline.
Final Destination series:
Final Destination 2 (2003): The logo is on a blue aurora background.
Final Destination 3 (2006): The logo is on a blue smoke background.
The Final Destination (2009):
- The whole logo is in white with blood covering the filmstrip and putting on a smokey navy blue background.
Final Destination 5 (2011):
- The logo is made out of metal and is put against a grayish-blue cloudy background. Also, the company's name is in different font.
- On TV Spot, same as the first trailer, but beside with Warner Bros Pictures.
Cellular (2004): The logo is printed on a black-colored steel sheet with bullets.
Blade: Trinity (2004):
- Same as the movie itself, but the logo reverses in warp speed while Blade appears on the square of the logo before he jumps off.
- On one version of the TV spot, the logo reverses and disappears before the Marvel logo shows up.
Shoot 'Em Up (2007): The black print logo is on a platinum red background.
Love in the Time of Cholera (2007): The logo is red once again.
Sex and the City film series:
Sex and the City: The Movie (2008): The logo is tinted in fuchsia.
Sex and the City 2 (2010):
- The logo has a fashionable look with shining. Seen on the trailer. In the film itself, the logo is exactly like in the trailer, but it animates like the 2003 logo.
Semi-Pro (2008): The logo is styled like a disco ball.
Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008): The whole logo is in white & olive-gold with a crack on the filmstrip and put on a bistre background. Also, pieces zoom from the filmstrip.
Four Christmases (2008): The whole logo is red and on a white background. This was only on a TV spot.
He's Just Not That Into You (2009): The glow behind the 1994 logo is removed. Also, the box and ladders are in 2D, and the logo is sky blue except for the text.
The Rite (2011): The logo has a teal light and is covered with writings.
Horrible Bosses (2011):
- The logo is blue and is put on a white gradient background.
A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas (2011): Same as the movie itself, but the text doesn't turn white.
New Year's Eve (2011): The logo is metallic with orange outline and it has lightsparks.
Rock of Ages (2012):
- The logo is light blue.
- On the second trailer, the logo is cream with a purple glow behind it as it zooms in.
The Hobbit trilogy
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012):
- On a black and red cloudy background are the Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, and MGM logos. All are orange and have a bit of a blurry appearance and look to be made of stone.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013):
- The logo is metallic gold, and it is rusted. Also, it is on a black background.
- On the teaser trailer, the WB, MGM, and New Line logos appear as wood.
- On the Sneak Peak, this, the Warner Bros. Pictures logo and the MGM logo are metallic yellow and placed on a black background. Also, the company's name is in a different font.
The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies (2014):
- The logo is made of wood and zooms through the camera.
Jack the Giant Slayer (2013):
- The logo looks something like concrete or paper.
We're the Millers (2013):
- On TV spots, the logo shares the screen with the Warner Bros. Pictures logo. Plus, it is saturated.
If I Stay (2014): The logo is silver-blue and shares space with WB and MGM logos.
Horrible Bosses 2 (2014): The logo is color teal, the byline and the background is black.
- On the second trailer, same as the first trailer, but the logo print is dark gray.
- On the TV Spot, it's same as the first trailer, but is beside with Warner Bros Pictures.
San Andreas (2015):
- The logo looks metallic.
The Gallows (2015): On TV spots, the logo shares a screen with the Warner Bros. Pictures logo and both logos are tinted in red.
It series:
It (2017):
- The logo is on the 1998 Warner Bros. Sky Background but in low color saturation and with a red balloon flying in the background.
It Chapter 2 (2019):
- The logo is in a shade of sepia with 2018 WarnerMedia byline, with same backgrounds from the previous movie, and features a projector-like effect. and a red balloon can be seen in the right.
The Nun film series:
The Nun (2018): The logo is white and black metals with WB logo on the Dark red background.
The Nun II (2023):
- The logo is metallic and placed over a dark red background, slowly zooming in.
Shazam film series:
Shazam! (2019):
- The logo and WarnerMedia byline appear in red on a black background. This logo was done by Devastudios and can be seen on [their website].
- On TV spots, this logo shares the screen with the WB and DC Comics variants.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023):
- On the first trailer, the logo is dark red and is put on a black background with an orange glowing light in the center of the background. Like House Party, the logo zooms in slowly.
- On the second trailer, it's the same as the film itself.
- On the Big Game Spot, this logo, the Warner Bros. Pictures logo and the DC Comics logos are all in dark red on a glowing orange background.
Shaft (2019): The logo is a slightly lighter orange, and the 2018 WarnerMedia byline are deep orange.
On one trailer, the logo shares the same screen with the WB logo but appears before it.
The Kitchen (2019): The logo uses the 1967 logo in a light green color and is on a black background.
Mortal Kombat (2021):
- Same as the movie itself.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021):
- The print logo is superimposed on a hilly background.
The Many Saints of Newark (2021):
- The print logo (in white) is on a black background.
8-Bit Christmas (2021):
- The filmbox is red and white, while the company name is blue, with the byline in white. Pixelated snowflakes fall on the logo.
Kimi (2022, HBO Max):
- The logo cross-fade from the Warner Bros. Pictures logo.
Moonshot (2022):
- The print logo is colored in orange and appears on a nighttime background, where it glows as it slowly zooms out.
Don't Worry Darling (2022):
- The logo is tinted in white/sepia, is on a black background with a blurred light behind it, and flashes in and out.
- On the first trailer, it is bylineless.
- On one TV spot, the print logo is seen on a black background next to the Warner Bros. Pictures variant.
Black Adam (2022):
- The logo is made out of metal, slowly zooms in, and is put on a black background with an orange light below it. This is also the first time that the Warner Bros. Discovery byline is used.
House Party (2023):
- The logo is colored yellow and is on the same dark gradient background as the Warner Bros. Pictures variant. It slowly zooms in towards the camera.
Evil Dead Rise (2023): The logo and byline are blood red on a black background that has blood red cracks on it, just like the Warner Bros. Pictures logo preceding it.
- On the international trailer, the filmbox starts upside down and spins clockwise into its normal position.
- On the final trailer, same as the first trailer, but the logo is bright and the cracks in the background are shown emerging from the darkness.
Horizon: An American Saga (2024):
- The logo is light gray with a texture and has a slight shadow behind it on a canyon background. Neither the company's name nor the WBD byline are present.
- On the second trailer, it's similar to the previous trailer, but the company's name and the WBD byline are present, and the background is black.
- On another trailer, it's the same variant, but the filmbox uses its 2024 design.
- On the TV Spot, the variant from the second trailer is used, but it shares the screen with the WB and Territory Pictures logos. It appears after the WB logo, before the Territory Pictures logo appears.
The Watchers (2024):
- One the first trailer, the logo is on a black background and a forest can be seen within it.
- On the second trailer, the logo is now white-gray with the Blinding Edge Pictures print logo over the green and rocky grass next to a road in the center where a blue car.
Turtles All The Way Down (2024, Max):
- The logo is orange on black background with microbes floating around. It is bylineless again.
Caddo Lake (2024): The logo is shaded aqua green.
Sweethearts (2024): The logo is red and white.
Salem's Lot (2024):
- The dark cloudy background reveal the logo, the logo is red, covered blood and zoom in slowly. Only seen on trailer.
Companion (2025):
- The logo is red on a light pink background.
