Background

Nickelodeon UK (also known as Nickelodeon International) is a British pay television network owned by Paramount Global & launched in September 1st, 1993 (26 years after Nickelodeon has launched).

Logoː We see the Nickelodeon print logo from 1984-2009 on an orange background. Then, depending on the variant, a random thing would happen during it's screen time.

  • September 2005-January 2006?: Starting in September 2005, Nickelodeon began to transition from the "letters" era to the "scribble" era. Following this, all of the idents were modified with hand-drawn animations made with marker (and sometimes with paper, handprints, etc.).

Triviaː It has a website version, where it's a message to help the people affected by the tsunami at the time.

Variantsː There were various IDs in the history of the ID's usage.

  • Tractorː We see the Nickelodeon logo like usual. Then we see an orange tractor wheel going towards it. It then gets on the text, & flattens the text before it gets back to normal.
  • Scissorsː We see the text popping out. We then see scissors with teeth come in at the right side & cut the text 3 times. It then goes to the left revealing the text again.
  • Handː We see the text as usual. Then a live hand quickly grabs the left side of the text. The hand then leaves taking the text, making the rest of the logo only an orange background.
  • Pushing & Pullingː We see 2 children both carrying the text in a rectangle. We then zoom out while the children & the rectangle fade out.
  • Spinning Lettersː We see all of the letters for "Nickelodeon" spin to get in center.
  • Carsː We see cars driving under the text, where a blue car crashed into the text.
  • Tornadoː We see a tornado get towards the text & carrying the letters from right to left.
  • Whirlpoolː We see the text spin & gets sucked at the bottom of the screen similar to a whirlpool.
  • Pop-in Lettersː We see the text with a shadow & each letter in a random order becomes orange. It then "blinks".
  • CRASHǃː We start off as a blue screen. It then cracks & sends pieces everywhere, revealing the text.
  • Comedy/Gigglingː We see the letters in the position of watching television, where a light is shown to symbolize the television. When a man screams, each of the letters giggle while the position gets back to the center.
  • Gumː We see the text as usual. We then see a live foot smashing the text. As the foot lifts up, the text stretches like gum & gets attached to the foot.
  • Lettersː We see various letters in the same font for "Nickelodeon" show up. "Nickel" appears & when it does, "Odeon" pops up at the right.
  • Silly Monster Aː We see a White Monster run behind the text. It then tries to get to the "O" & when it does, it gets dizzy.
  • Silly Monster Bː We see the same monster as last time get in front of the text & walks backwards, using the text to get him to launch. He then launches & gets dizzy.
  • Silly Monster Cː We see the same monster as last time at the right pick up the "N" & drops it, making a pendulum. He then gets off screen from the "N".
  • Silly Monster Dː We see the same monster as last time swing on the text. He then gets off screen & the text gets in center.
  • Lifting Lettersː We see each letter appear at the top half & jump to show the rest.
  • Spongebobː We see Spongebob using the "I" for "Nickelodeon" as a Flute & plays. He then puts it between the "N" & "C" in "NICKELODEON" & leaves.
  • Slimeː We see a green screen with orange slime getting on the screen. As the slime drips, it reveals the text.
  • Typingː We see each letter from left to right in white lines appear, which includes a rectangle of the same color. Once it's done, it blinks revealing the text entirely in white.
  • Slot Machineː We see all of the letters falling over & over. The letters then get to place.
  • Bubblesː We see orange bubbles on a blue screen. As more bubbles come in, it reveals the text.
  • Sparkː We see a spark coming towards the text. It goes through the letters, making the letters black & skinny. They fall into pieces.
  • Stampedeː We see a herd run towards the text, making the letters fall & get them dizzy.
  • Particlesː We see particles going either up or down making the text. Then it disappears from wind.
  • Cartwheelː We see a girl doing a cartwheel behind the text & leave.
  • Runningː We see multiple children running behind the text.
  • Jumpingː We see 3 children jumping, trying to touch the text. There are different versions of this as well, where there can be different kids, kids jumping in a different perspective, or even involving 1 kid.
  • Distortionː We see circle outlines all over the screen. It reveals that the outlines is the text.
  • Spinning Childː We see a child getting to the ground 3 times. We then see hin spin 3 times.
  • Jumpː We see the text as it is. We then see 2 pairs of legs at the last second.
  • Flashingː We see the background flash different colors with the text.
  • Kids, Text Editionː We see 3 kids inside the text in orange.
  • Catː We see a live black cat on the text. Then the cat gets off of it.
  • Linesː We see crossed orange lines moving inside of the text.
  • Slot Machine (Alternate Variant)ː Same as the Slot Machine.
  • Rippleː We see the text ripple in reverse.
  • Sign Iː We see a child holding a rectangular card that involves the text. It then gets closer, making the card & the child disappear.
  • Fallingː We see children falling, where it lands on the text & disappear.
  • Jump x8ː We see the "Jump" ID multiple times where it speeds. We then see the same child jump on the text & disappear.
  • Groovyː We see the text & different copies in a "wavy" form & get to the center.
  • Flipː We see a child flipping on the text.
  • Typeː Same as the "Pop-In Letters", but it's now in white.
  • Sign IIː We see a child walking towards the right carrying a big card involving the text. Then, the child walks to the left & again, gets closer making the card & the child disappear.
  • "O"ː We see the letter "O" falling & get to place. Then the text "DEON" moves to the left & get next to the letter. Then the text "NICKEL" move to the right & get next to the letter.
  • Birdː We see a bird (specifically a pigeon) flying upwards. Then a tiny dot in white comes out of the bird's butt. It spins & gets closer quickly. It then gets to the center of the screen in a splat form, revealing the text "NICKELODEON" in orange. The white splat spreads all over the screen.
  • Soccerː We see a Soccer Ball/Football smash the center of the screen, leaving a crack on the screen. Meanwhile, the Soccer Ball bounces on the text, making it fall.
  • Spinning Textː We see the text spinning on the orange background. Then it stops spinning & starts jittering. Then, it gets to the usual form, but leaving a trail moving around (a la Toppic Video). Then the trail gets back to it's proper position.
  • Saturationː We see the text get saturated & does the same thing, but in reverse twice. The background is also a bit dimmed.
  • Messageː Commonly seen as text that says the show's episode that's about to premiere.
  • Bowlingː We see a bowling ball roll on the lane, which then hits a set of pins. Then the sweep comes in & gets lowered, as the text is shown in 3D.
  • Craneː We see a close-up of a 3D Modeled Crane driving. Then we see the same Crane driving behind the text.
  • Racingː We see a 3 shots of an orange Formula driving on an orange tunnel. The text can be seen on the track.
  • UFOː We see a UFO lower & show a light at the bottom of said UFO. It then goes upwards & lifts the text. Then the text drops as the UFO gets higher.
  • Text Madnessː We see the text move all over the screen, abruptly giving us close-up shots. Then it gets to the center.

FX/SFXː 2D, 3D CGI, or Live-Action.

Music/Soundsː Usually sound effects are heard (boing, yelling, popping, splat sound, boom, bell ding, marker drawing, etc.).

Availabilityː Extinct on Television.

Legacyː This has been known for being a strange ID for the UK, but it's intended to be for kids and for comedy, so it makes sense it's like that and it lasted for 4 years. Due to it, some might even laugh due to the randomness, young or old. Starting with the rebrand of the US network in 2009, the British network now uses the former network's IDs.
