Background

The Oficina Central de Información (English: Central Office of Information) was the institution that operated most of the broadcasting services and messages of the Venezuelan government before 1999.

1st Logo (1986-1992?)


Currently the only surviving video footage of this logo.

Visuals: On a dark/purple gradient background, we see an abstract design (which consist of C and a sliced lowercase I and C). Under the design is three shiny red/green/blue sliced lines. Then the text:

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: From the partial footage available at the moment, part of a spacy synth theme can be heard.

Availability: It was used at the end of cadena broadcasts during the late 1980s. Currently, only a partial 2 second clip of this logo exists online.

2nd Logo (1992-1994)

Visuals:

Technique: CGI.

Audio:

Availability: Seen at the beginning and end of national cadenas (joint broadcasts) by the Venezuelan government during the period, with the majority of them not being preserved online in full.

3rd Logo (1994-1999)

Audio:

Availability: Same reasons as the previous logo.
