Background

Cinema Group Pictures was founded by William J. Immerman in the late 1970s. It was later absorbed into Overseas Film Group. In the late 1980s, Elliott Kastner later joined the company for a brief period of time.

1st Logo (1980s)

Logo: On a black background, we see the words, "a presentation of". The words then fade out. Then four light blue streaks steak across to the center of the screen, forming an abstract "C", and the words "Cinema Group" below the "C". Then the logo and words streak toward and away from the screen.

Variant: On some films, "a presentation of" is not shown.

FX/SFX: The fading in/out of the words "a presentation of', streaking of the logo and words, etc.

Music/Sounds: Usually silent or synth fanfare.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the Kino Lorber Blu-Ray release of Take This Job and Shove It, the Embassy Television jingle plays over it, probably because of the audio being ripped from an TV airing.

Availability: Extremely rare. Can be seen on Southern Comfort, Deadtime Stories and Witchboard, among others.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (Late 1980s)

Nickname: "The Green/Pink/Blue Rectangle"

Logo: On a black background, we see a blue rectangle with a yellow outline and a red outline, and the text:

CINEMA
GROUP
PICTURES

is on the rectangle. At the bottom right corner of the square is a "TM" symbol.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: Silent.

Availability: Extremely rare. Seen on the original VHS release of Zombie High and the trailer for Brain Damage.

Editor's Note: None.
