Background

This is Dave Chappelle's vanity card. The company’s name derives from the fact that upon first arriving in Hollywood, Chappelle starred in a number of television pilots that were never picked up.

Logo (January 22, 2003-July 23, 2006)

Visuals: Against a gray gradient background is a shirtless, smug-faced Dave Chappelle in handcuffs holding wads of cash in his hands. The name "Pilot Boy Productions" is seen below. The entire image is boxed in on a black background.

Variant: On the first season of Chappelle's Show, the image is slightly bigger, and the text, here on the black background below the image, reads "PILOT BOYS PRODUCTIONS" in a white Clarendon White font with a gray drop shadow.

Technique: A live-action photograph with superimposed text.

Audio: Chappelle's Show regular Donnell Rawlings screaming "I'm rich, beeyatch!", followed by a truck horn. This clip was taken from the "Black Reparations" sketch.

Audio Variants:

  • On the episode "$55 Million & Getting Revenge", Rawlings screams "I'm broke, beeyatch!" instead.
  • On the episode "True Hollywood Stories - Rick James", Chappelle (as Rick James) screams "They should've never gave you n****s money!!!", followed by the truck horn.
  • On the Chappelle's Show section of VH1's I Love the New Millennium: 2003, the logo is featured without the truck horn.

Availability: Seen on Chappelle's Show on Comedy Central and Dave Chappelle: For What It's Worth on Showtime.
