Background

The PolyGame Master is an arcade board made by Taiwanese company IGS in 1997, originally designed to compete with SNK's Neo Geo by utilizing intricate 2D-based graphic capabilities. Games were mostly developed by IGS themselves and Japanese companies Cave and Idea Factory. The last games for the original model was released in 2005. IGS followed it up with the PolyGame Master 2 in 2007, and the PGM3 in 2012.

Logo (1997-2005)

Visuals: On a black background, a metallic rectangle with the yellow letters "PGM" drops down at the top of the screen. Then "PolyGame Master", in cyan, types in below the rectangle. The red IGS logo in CGI then rises while spinning and stops at the bottom of the screen. The registered mark appears next to it.

Technique: 2D/3D sprite animation.

Audio: Various minor chords are played on a synthesized keyboard along with a few other synth sounds, a soft bang, typewriter clicks, and a swoosh.

Availability: Seen whenever a PGM game is booted, but not all have the logo. Cave games usually skip this thus making it harder to find. Can be seen on original IGS games such as Martial Masters.
