Background

Ponluu Neakpoan Kampuchea was the first private film production company in Cambodia, established in 1958 by Sun Bun Ly. It produced films during the 1960s and went defunct sometime in 1972. Sun Bun Ly's success inspired other filmmakers of that time, including Ly Bun Yim who later founded Runteas Pich Production.
