Background
Red Star OS (Korean: 붉은별) is a North Korean Linux distribution, with development first starting in 1998 at the Korea Computer Center (KCC).
1st Screen (2008)

Visuals: Over a blurry blue/black background, the Red Star OS logo is shown with the Korean text in white, and a stylized star in red. The text "사용자용제계 1.0판" is shown in transparent below.
Technique: A still, digital graphic.
Audio: Unknown.
Availability: This was used on the first version of Red Star OS. So far, no copies of it have surfaced online besides a few screenshots.
2nd Screen (2009)
Visuals: Over an abstract light blue background, the revamped Red Star OS logo is shown, with the text now being in red, and the design of the star being changed to include a wing-like streak. "사용자용제계 2.0판" is shown below in white.
Technique: A still, digital graphic.
Audio:
- Startup: A calm 5-note theme.
- Shutdown: A 3-note piano theme.
Availability: It is seen on version 2.0 of the OS.
3rd Screen (2012)
Visuals: Over a gray background, the Red Star OS logo from before appears in the center. After a while, a loading circle (like in the macOS startup) appears below.
Technique: Computer animation.
Audio: None.
Availability: It is seen on version 3.0 of the OS.
4th Screen (2017)

Visuals: On a dark background, the Red Star OS logo appears with a shine effect at the top of the star. A reflection is seen below, minus the shine effect.
Technique: Unknown.
Audio: Unknown.
Availability: It is seen on version 4.0 of the OS. Just like the first version of Red Star OS, no copies of it have surfaced online besides a few images.
