Background

S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc. (commonly referred to as S. C. Johnson) is an American multinational corporation which manufactures household cleaning supplies and other consumer chemicals. Their headquarters are in Racine, Wisconsin.

1st Logo (1993)

Visuals: At the end of the commercial, the bottom right of the screen folds up to a blue background containing the SC Johnson logo. The same concept would be used for the next logo.

Technique: CGI animation.

Audio: Just the ending of the commercial.

Availability: This was only seen on the Toilet Duck Bluey commercial from 1993.

2nd Logo (2000's-2018)

Visuals: Same concept as last logo, except the corner flaps to reveal a white background with the SC Johnson logo and byline on it. A red line is seen below.

Variants:

  • Later on, two lines go through the logo, and the byline's font is changed.
  • In some international markets, the byline is removed.
  • Starting in 2011, the background is changed to a paper (or paper towel) background.
  • Starting in 2013, the flap opens farther, and lines are etched on the paper. The paper is also lighter.
  • On commercials for Scrubbing Bubbles, Sudsy interacts with the logo by touching it.

Technique: CGI animation.

Audio: A woman announcer saying "SC Johnson, A Family Company" or rarely just "SC Johnson".

Audio Variants:

  • Sometimes just the tail end of the commercial plays.
  • On some commercials prior to 2011 (like Raid Outdoor Ant Nest Destroyer and Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer), a male announcer quickly says the phrase instead.

Availability: Seen on many SC Johnson commercials produced during the time frame, such as those for Duck Ultra and Ziploc.

3rd Logo (2018-)

Visuals: On a background that varies by brand, "SC" fades in one by one. "Johnson" fades in, and the "J" draws in and extends in a hook below "SC". The byline also fades in, which is extended to "A family company at work for a better world". All of the logo also zooms out slowly.

Variant: A red-white color scheme variant exists.

Technique: CGI animation.

Audio: Same as the shortened variant of the last logo.

Audio Variant: Sometimes, like on the FamilyGuard Disinfectant Spray commercial, the full voiceover is used.

Availability: Seen on post-2018 SC Johnson commercials such as those for Duck Deep Action Gel and Kabikiller Japan.
