Saban Video
Background
Saban Video was a home video label of Saban Entertainment. The company stopped releasing products after 1993, and Saban formed a new home entertainment label, Saban Home Entertainment, in conjunction with A-Vision Entertainment.
Logo (1989-1993)
Visuals: On a blurry sky blue background with light blue clouds, a huge cloud of 12 rainbow-colored balloons float around in mid-air. Then, a red balloon that reads "Saban" in a gold Kentucky font at the top of the balloon along with three golden lines (resembling the 1988 "Gold Plate" logo) and a long string at the bottom that reads "Video" in red appears in a huge close-up that zooms out. Next, the red balloon zooms out faster and is placed inside a rounded rectangle (similar to the one in the Hi-Tops Video logo).
Variants:
- A later variant exists, which has the background colored a slightly lighter shade and the clouds redesigned to look more realistic. The rectangle surrounding the logo now has a shadow, and the gold parts of the logo shine.
- When used before previews, the word "PREVIEW" would appear over the logo.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A synthesized tune with chimes and violins. Composed by Shuki Levy.
Availability: Seen on VHS releases of Saban shows released by Video Treasures.
- This logo may also be preserved on some Hi-Tops Video releases.
- Such examples include the third season of Camp Candy, Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, and Samurai Pizza Cats.
- Several low-key animated mini-movies from Saban also have this logo, like The Nutcracker, Treasure Island, The Jungle Book, and Aladdin and his Magic Lamp.
- It is also seen on international VHS releases of Saban shows.
