Background

Sometime in the 2000s, Salem School District Television was rebranded to Salem School District Educational Access (or SLC-6). In Spring 2016, the channel was renamed to Salem School District Media, although their logo is still used on a few of their social media.

1st Logo (October 13, 2009?-November 9, 2016)

Visuals: The logo consists of three cornflower blue bars, the middle of which is the thickest, leading into a large "6". Within each bar are "Salem School District", "SLC", and "Educational Access" respectively, all in white. Underneath the logo is the text "Channel 6 - Salem, New Hampshire". Basic effects such as zoom-ins and fade-ins are applied to this logo.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is shown on a moving background.
    • * On the October 28, 2011 Blue Devil Football match, the logo transitions to the channel's full name and phone number in Arial and with a black glow through a flipping effect.
  • At the beginning of a November 1, 2013 Blue Devil football match at Londonderry, the white text bursts from left to right before getting absorbed back into the words.
  • At the beginning of a September 27, 2013 football match between Salem and Bedford, the logo flips and zooms in.
  • On the October 7, 2011 Blue Devil Football match, a light sparks and dims, revealing the logo.
  • On the SSD Communication Strategy, the bottom text was omitted.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: It only consists of an announcer reading "You're watching SLC-6, Salem's learning channel".

Audio Variants:

  • Sometimes, background music may accompany the announcer.
  • At the end of programs, the announcer says "This has been a Salem School District Media Services presentation".
  • There exists a phone number variant: a relaxing and upbeat techno track plays in the background and the announcer says "Do you have questions or comments about Channel 6 programming? Call us at 898-0206".
  • A simpler audio variant features a relaxing, high note synthesizer/piano piece in the background and the channel name, "Salem School District Television", being read.
  • On the September 6, 2013 Salem vs. Memorial football match, a long whoosh ending with a reverbed crash plays at the beginning, followed by the narration from the above variant.
Availability: Most programs do not start or end with an animated logo sequence. These logos are found at the beginning of several football matches from 2011 to 2013 such as some Blue Devil Football episodes. It also appeared on the SSD Communication Strategy presentation.

Variants:

  • In some instances, the bottom text was removed.
  • On the 2009 North Salem Winter Concert, the following text is added underneath the logo:
Watch this and other
Channel 6 programming On Demand at
www.ssdtv6.com
  • On the 2009 Salem High School Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, a copyright notice consisting of the year and channel name are added beneath the logo.
  • On 2010 Blue Devil Football episodes, the logo on the bottom right corner with the text "BLUE DEVIL FOOUnknownLL ON SLC6 IS A SALEM SCHOOL DISTRICT MEDIA SERVICES PRESENTATION" next to it.
  • The October 7, 2011 episode of said series features the text "The following is a Salem School District Media Services Presentation" underneath.
  • Said series' October 21, 2011 episode has "A Salem School District Media Services Presentation" underneath.
    • The 2013 Barron Spring Concert has a similar text variant but with a small year added below the notice.
  • On the 2011 Woodbury Grades 7 & 8 Chorus Winter Concert, a Santa hat is seen on top of the "6".
  • On the 2014 SHS National Honor Society Induction, the logo is against a white burst.
  • On The Special Olympics 2015 Penguin Plunge, a tagline was added, reading "Educational Access Television Since 1971".
  • On Cabaret (Sound of the City) 2016, the logo has a shadow effect.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The ending theme of the program.

Availability: While a good portion of the programs the channel produced from this period end with no credits or logo, it had a broader reach than the animated variants, appearing on concert programs such as the 2011 Woodbury Grades 7 & 8 Chorus Winter Concert and the 2013 Barron Spring Concert to name a few. The logo's earliest appearance was on an October 13, 2009 Blue Devil Football match and was last seen on a few episodes from said program, the last known of which being a November 9, 2016 Salem playoffs at Bedford. This logo was strangely revived in 2021 on a few Blue Devil Football matches where it is featured alongside the Salem School District Media logo.

2nd Logo (March-July 7, 2010)

Visuals: On a dodger blue background with waving searchlights on the right side, the SLC-6 logo from before is seen in a wave effect played at a fast speed.

Variant: On the 2010 SHS Winter Percussion with William M. Hallahan, Jr., top and bottom white text with a black glow are added to the logo, reading "This has been a Salem School District Media Services Presentation" and "Watch this program on demand at www.ssdtv6.com" respectively.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: An intense, hard rock fanfare.

Availability: It was seen at the beginning of a few baseball and softball matches such as the 2010 Class L Baseball and Softball Championship Games, but like the previous logos, most programs do not have an animated logo featured. Outside of sports, the logo was also seen on the 2010 SHS Winter Percussion with William M. Hallahan, Jr.
