Background
Scope was the successor to Austria Wochenschau, broadcast from 1982 to 1985. The design of the contributions was similar to that of a video clip and perfected the staging of the youth cult. "Scope" picked up on the latest movements in the music scene of the early 1980s ("New Wave", "Punk", "Neue Deutsche Welle") and featured scene reports and a weekly program calendar.
Logo (1982-1985)
Visuals:
- Opening: On a black background, there is a reflective dodger blue-blue striped scrolling perspective surface with a light blue gradient color from the horizon. From above in the distance is the outlined "scope" in a light Scanimate trail, where it slowly zooms forth moving down and upwards. Once closer enough, it stops moving and stands still above, with its reflection remaining without movements.
- Closing: On said sequence, half of the end of the logo is shown, though said text moves even more upwards off-screen, with its duplicate reflection oddly disappearing abruptly. From the horizon, "...jede woche wieder..." emerges above and stands still.
Technique: Slit-scan animation.
Audio: A brief 80's electronic synth tune with pulsating sounds.
Availability: Shown on newsreels from the period.
