Background

Scrawl Studios is a Singapore-based animation studio, founded in 2002.

1st Logo (September 18, 2007-July 17, 2008)

Visuals: On a black background is 2 small squares. Under and above them is a bigger square and a rectangle, both of which are orange. Above and below are 2 white lines, and under them are the stacked words "scrawl studios", also in white.

Variants:

  • On early episodes of Milly, Molly, the logo is on a white background.
  • On the animated short Slip (which can be seen on Scrawl Studios' YouTube channel), the logo is seen at the bottom right hand corner of the screen and the text is in a different serif font. "a production of" in Arial Black is seen next to it.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Clang Invasion.

2nd Logo (December 19, 2008-March 10, 2009)

Visuals: On a white background, there is an animated creature drawing something. It then stops and looks around, and then looks up before being crushed by the same lines and shapes from the previous logo, but all in orange, along with the words below, which read "scrawlstudios" in black, with the smaller text "pte ltd" under those words. Some parts of the creature come out from under the logo. A crack in the floor then forms, which the creature sticks it's eyes through.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A falling whistle sound, followed by the creature screaming and the sound of the floor cracking.

Availability: Appears on the first thirteen episodes of The New Adventures of Nanoboy.

3rd Logo (January 23, 2009-)

Visuals: There is the text "SCRAW" in a handwritten font on a white background. A robot arm holding an orange pencil moves into the frame and draws an "L" to complete the logo. "STUDIOS" fades in at the bottom. Subtle film scratches can be seen throughout the logo.

Variants:

  • An extended version exists where the first five letters are drawn by (in order) a tentacle, a hand wearing a sock puppet, a hand wearing a glove, a bulky arm, and a monster's claw.
  • On S1E14 of Nanoboy, the film scratches are more visible.
  • On Singa and the Kindness Cubbies, the logo is in-credit.
  • On Nanoboy: Mission Health, the logo is still and fades in.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: An old-timey piano tune with film projector sounds in the background. Otherwise, it uses the show's ending theme or silence.

Availability: Can be seen on Adventures of Water Wally, later seasons of Milly, Molly, later episodes of The New Adventures of Nanoboy, and the first season of Guess How Much I Love You. The extended version can be found on two showreels from 2010 and 2011.
