Background

Segodnya (Cyrillic: Сегодня; English: Today) is the main news program of NTV in Russia. Originally, it broadcasted on Channel 5 starting on October 11th, 1993 until January 14th, 1994, but when NTV (the company that produced the program) launched its own TV channel on January 17th, 1994, the program began broadcasting on the said TV channel in the same day.

1st Intro (October 11, 1993-August 2, 1994)

Visuals: The sequence starts on a dark blue zooming starfield background. A small thin ring, in blue-white-magenta gradient, in the center of the screen forms a zooming tunnel consisting of multiple copies of a ring, while a white spotlight forms in the middle of the screen and rotates 270° clockwise, forming its copy facing right, which later disappears. As a white spotlight continues rotating, a red spotlight appears, causing a white one to disappear, and a red one also disappears before three more white spotlights appear, facing right. The screen then flashes and returns back to normal as a red spotlight appears and rotates, forming a white circle with a dark crescent in the center of the screen. During the formation of a white circle, the same spotlights appear and disappear to the right, but in gray colors. As a red spotlight forms a clock (which consists of a dark gray marble circle with with Arabic numerals) in the place of a circle, the circle becomes cyan, while the clock during its formation wipes clockwise to a gray marble sphere with a green map of the Earth in the middle of it. The screen then fades to a close-up shot of the same forming animation of a sphere with a world map, rotating from the top-left angle, albeit with a white spotlight facing to the bottom-right. After a second, the screen fades to the same green map of the Earth, landing on a gray marble sphere on a sepia surface. The camera zooms out and rotates clockwise to reveal the word "СЕГОДНЯ" (with a marble sphere with a world map representing "О") in the middle of the screen, with two red lines below the text, spacing between a letter "Д" of the text. During the animation of a camera, the black serif italic text of a newscaster wipes in above "СЕГОДНЯ", and the surface turns light gray.

Technique: A mix of CGI and 2D computer animation by Creat.

Audio: A faint ascending/descending synth sound with a soundclip of dispatcher talking, which fades out. It segues into a synth-truimphant theme with electronic drums and multiple laser sounds, accompanied by police sirens and a whoosh sound when the camera zooms out.

2nd Intro (September 1994-July 2, 1995)

Visuals: The sequence starts with a spinning metallic wireframe globe against a dark blue aurora-like background. The camera slowly zooms in as a turquoise map of the Earth slides from the bottom-left and becomes spherical, making the continents of a wireframe globe. As the map of the Earth became attached to the globe, several white texts ("ХРОНИКА ДНЯ", "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ РЕПОРТАЖ", "ФИНАНСЫ И БИЗНЕС", "НОВОСТЬ ДНЯ", "ПОГОДА" and "СПОРТ") began to appear and spin around a globe. After that, a wire frame globe turns into a normal, reflective sphere, in aquamarine, and zooms out to the middle near the bottom-right of the screen. As the globe continues to spin, two circular lines appear spinning around a globe, turning into the word " СЕГОДНЯ" (with a globe representing "О" of the text, just like the previous intro) at a 3/4 angle. Then, a transparent salmon line, containing the white bold italic text of a newscaster, appears above the text as two transparent blurry white bars slide against the text (the first one from left to right, and the second one from the top to bottom) and the background turns black. After that, four transparent blurry blue bars slide in against a text, taking up the whole screen area.

Variants: Two short variants exist:

The first one starts with a B&W reflective Earth globe spinning, along with three white rings rotating around it against a blue/teal liquid-like background. An Earth globe with rings zooms out as the silver text "СЕГ ДНЯ" fly from the left to the center of the screen, and the globe places itself between these letters of the text.
The second one starts with a dark turquoise reflective sphere in the middle of the screen on a black background. Suddenly, a green map of the Earth appears against a sphere, with its outline glow flashing; a world map moves back, leaving its outline glow which flashes the second time, becomes spherical and attaches itself to a sphere as the outline glow fades out. As the sphere with continents begins to spin, two gray lines between a sphere slide in from left and right, then they flip to the front to reveal that they are actually a sea green/silver text " СЕГ ДНЯ".

Technique: CGI animation by Levin Studio.

Audio: A long, rising synth orchestra note with various beeping sounds, followed by a synth orchestra fanfare which is accompanied by an electric guitar tune, and ends with a soothing piano/flute tune. Composed by Sergey Miklashevsky, who also composed the next intro.

Audio Variants:

The first short variant has a 5-note synth orchestra theme which starts off with an descending synth warble.
The second short variant has a different 5-note synth orchestra theme, which is in sync with the animation.

3rd Intro (July 3, 1995-November 10, 1996)

Visuals: Over a dark blue background (actually the one that was used in the first short variant of the previous intro, albeit darker), a blue/pink NTV logo from 1994 (in a marble texture) appears by flashing in the middle near the bottom-right of the screen at a tilted angle. The camera slowly turns to the logo as several white texts from the previous intro (albeit in a serif font) slide from the right, passing through the logo. After that, the camera zooms to the ball (which is a light blue reflective marble one) of the logo as six beaming white circles appear behind a ball. Once they disappear and the logo fades out, a white wireframe globe forms in the place of a ball as the camera begins to slowly zoom out. During that, a green map of the Earth slides in from the right as it becomes spherical, and attaches itself to a wireframe globe as it turns into a normal, reflective dark turquoise globe with continents and begins to slowly spin. During the formation of an Earth globe, two blurry circular lines appear rotating behind a globe and then fade out, and the text " СЕГ ДНЯ", in a marble texture, appears zooming out and places its letters between a globe. After that, a group of blurry white vertical lines quickly fly out to form a red line above the text, and the white text of the newscaster appears on a line letter-by-letter via a lens flare.

Variants:

The text above varies depending on the newscaster of a news broadcast.
A short variant exists: It's basically a recreation of the previous regular intro. The entire background is black, several texts around a globe don't appear, a transparent white sphere fades in inside a globe and wireframe globe remains on-screen, all of the blurry lines and a line with the text also doesn't appear, and the program name has a darker texture.

Technique: CGI animation by Levin Studio.

Audio: A synth-truimphant theme followed by five dramatic bell tolls during the appearance of beaming circles, accompanied by synth orchestra and piano notes. It segues to a bombastic triumphant fanfare, with an upward and downward bell sweep during the formation of the text of the newscaster.

Audio Variant: The short variant has a bombastic synth-truimphant fanfare with a slow upward piano sweep.

Morning:
- 1996-1997: The sequence starts with a green-tinted footage of a lake at the morning. The letters of the NTV logo of the time appears reflecting the screen, and the footage ripples as a shiny green ball of the logo appears. Then, when the footage along with the letters of the logo fades out, a ball turns into an Earth globe as it zooms to the Eurasia continent and the green tint faints. When the Earth zooms in, the screen fades to a sliding shot of a forest with a lake; a shot is then revealed to be a part of the letter "у", which has a drop shadow and it zooms out to the bottom-left of the screen; it is set against a different shot of a forest with a lake. The same thing applies to the said shot, which is a part of a small letter "т", it zooms out to the bottom-right next to the letter "у"; everything is now set on another different shot of a forest with a lake, which is then also revealed to be a part of a letter "р" zooming out to the middle near the bottom-right corner. The letters are now set against a shot of a forest with hills, and yet again, it's also revealed to be a part of a small letter "м" zooming out to the bottom-right corner of the screen. The background now consists of a close-up shot of a rising sun in the morning; the letters settle, forming the word "утром", with "о" being represented as a sun from the shot. The silver stylized text "СЕГОДНЯ", with a green ball being inside a letter "О" instead of its inner outline, pans down above the letter "у".
- 1997-1998: The sequence starts with an Earth globe, with its white glow, zooming out at the bottom on a black background. As the globe zoomed out, the background smoothly wipes to the black letters of the NTV logo of the time with their moving, large white glow in front of them against a slideshow of orange-tinted footages of a news studio, and a globe turns into a green mirror glass ball and settles itself at the bottom of the letters. After a second, the letters with a ball fade out, the word "интервью" wipes in at the upper-left corner as a smaller copy word, which has a white outline and it's filled with a black color, flickers for a split second before it disappears; this was because of a purple-ish blue spotlight, which moves near the middle of the screen and flashes to a glowing part of the word. A different spotlight shines through the word "информация" near the bottom of the screen as the word itself (in the same colors as "интервью"), which is larger, flickers for a split second before it disappears, while the same purple-ish blue spotlight flashes to a glowing part of this word. During that a dark shadow of the Segodnya logo appears in the background, moving from the left and fades out. Then, a silver version of the Segodnya logo (which also has an Earth globe inside a letter "О") pans up from the bottom rotated 90° and fades out; and then several words ("репортажи", "новости", "спорт", "погода") appear and flicker in the same way against the background. Between these parts of the intro, the same silver Segodnya logo fades in, panning out from the bottom and fades out. After the disappearance of the words in the background, a blue/pink Segodnya logo with an Earth globe slides from the light and zooms out to the bottom-left corner, and the tall word "Утром" fades in the whole screen behind a logo; it contains a footage of a rising sun in the morning, and it has a white moving large glow in front of it. Then, two horizontal bars, containing the same footage of a rising sun, slide in from the bottom-left and upper-right corners in the background. A white glow of the word "Утром" fades out, revealing the shadow of the word.
Daytime: The sequence starts on a dark orange cloudy-like background with circular scanlines. A mirror glass version of the NTV logo is seen in the whole screen, with a ball being represented as a mirror glass Earth globe with a grid. A globe zooms in to the center of the screen as the letters of the logo slowly turn to the right. As the globe takes up the whole screen area, the screen fades to an orange shady background with a close-up shot of a clock with circular scanlines. The white text "НОВОСТИ", with its shadow, fades in the middle of the screen as two brown lines consisting of small squares form from the upper-left and bottom-right corners. After a second, the screen fades to a close-up of the golden stylized text "СЕГОДНЯ" sliding to the left at a 3/4 angle, with its inner outlines rotating against a brown background with moving blurry, bright orange vertical bars. The screen then fades to the same shady orange background, but with a close-up shot of a human eye opening. There are also two vertical and horizontal lines forming from the bottom corners. The word "ИНФОРМАЦИЯ" fades in at the top of the screen. After a second, the screen fades to the same shot of a sliding golden text, but its different letters are shown on the screen. Then, the screen fades to the same shady orange background for the third time, but with a shot of what appears to be a rotating microphone. The word "РЕПОРТАЖИ" fades in at the bottom of the screen and two lines form from the bottom-left and bottom-right corners; and the screen fades to the same close-up of a sliding golden text, but its next letters are shown. The screen then fades to the shady orange background for the final time, but with a mirrored shot of a graphic frequency meter. The word "СПОРТ" fades in the middle of the screen, with two vertical lines forming from the bottom-left and upper-right corners. The screen then fades to the same shot of a sliding golden text, showing its last letters. Finally, the screen fades to the beige Segodnya logo, with a rotating Earth globe (and a wireframe one) being inside a letter "О", panning backwards against the same brown background with blurry orange bars, but with a giant text "днем" in the middle of the screen, overlapping the background in white/blue colors. A giant text is out-of-focus at first, but then it turns normal as the Segodnya logo settles itself to the middle near the right side of the screen, while the letters of the logo became silver and a globe turned into a plain green color. Two outlined rectangle shapes, consisting of small brown squares, form at the upper-left and bottom-right corners of the screen.
Evening:
- 1996-1997: The sequence starts with a mirror glass NTV logo, against a light blue wavy flag background, tilted at a 3/4 angle, with a ball being a transparent royal blue Earth globe. The letters of the logo slowly turn to the right as the globe slowly moves to the right. After a second, the screen fades to a darker blue wavy flag background, where in the middle of the screen is a flipping royal blue letter "Н", which fades to a letter "Т" and then later "В"; there are also flipping red letters, albeit larger, shown in the background out-of-focus, along with a sliding text of the Segodnya logo reflecting through the background. The reflective orange text "информация" (in OfficinaSans font) flips to the front at the top of the screen letter-by-letter. As the orange text fades away and the background becomes darker, the letter "В" fades to the first letter of the logo. After that, the background fades to a shot of several moving orange-red searchlights in the darkness as two spaced-out words "репортажи", in white, near the left side of the screen via a "smoking" effect, while a royal blue letter flips to a box containing a blue-tinted footage of a rotating microphone; and the same word, albeit in transparent white Impact font, wipes in near the left side of the screen as another version of the word "репортажи" (in the style of "информация") appears flipping to the front near the right side of the screen. Then, the background fades to a light blue flashing spotlight background with a tilted text of the program logo shining through it and a zooming globe near the bottom-right corner of the screen, and multiple words "репортажи" fade out as a box of a microphone footage fades to five transparent words "НОВОСТИ", wiping in black and white colors. As these words fade out, the background fades to an orange-red flashing background of what appears to be spotlights along with a moving shadow of the text of the program logo, and the same word "НОВОСТИ" (albeit wider, and its in white color) flickers near the bottom-right corner of the screen as a variation of the said word, but its royal blue, taller and tilted in the middle of the screen, appears flipping to the front. After that, a group of five flipping, spaced-out letters "спорт" fades in the middle of the screen for a second before it fades into a box containing an orange-red footage of running athelets, with a transparent tilted black text "СПОРТ" being superimposed against it. The exact same word, albeit in transparent white, appears below an orange-red box slightly turning to the bottom-right, and another version of the word "С П О Р Т" slides in at a rapid pace from the right to the upper-right corner of the screen. During that, the background fades to the same mirror glass letters of the NTV logo, titlted to the top and slowly moving to left against a light blue wavy flag background. Then, the background fades to a spinning orange globe with darker continents against a black background with a close-up of the same globe, but in transparent light blue. The variations of the word "СПОРТ", along with an orange-red box, fade out as a box containing a zooming footage of a globe in a blue environment fades in the place of an orange-red one. The spaced-out text "погода" (in the style of "информация", albeit blue) flips in to the front letter-by-letter at the bottom-left corner of the screen as another version of the text "погода", in transparent white, slides in from the left near the left side of the screen, and the background transitions to a shot of a mirror glass NTV logo from the beginning of the intro, but without a globe and against an orange cloudy background. The variations of the word "погода", along with a box of a footage of a globe in a blue environment, fade out, and the transparent Segodnya logo (in the same animation as the Daytime intro, but at a faster pace and brighter) appears zooming out as the background fades to a blue one with rotating mirror glass letters of the NTV logo, and the letters of Segodnya turn transparent white, while the globe of the logo turns light green. As the logo settles itself to the middle of the screen, an orange box with a blurred bottom fades in above the logo, and in the background, the camera zooms to mirror glass letters, filling the screen with a darker color. Finally, the stacked white text "и н ф о р м а ц и о н н а я программа" fades in above the Segodnya logo.
- 1997-1998: On a black background, there is a white crescent of what appears to be a dark globe near the left side fo the screen. A shiny green ball appears from behind a globe, circling around it and settles itself to the middle near the bottom of the screen as several copies of an italicized, mirror glass version of the letters of NTV logo, in purple/blue, appearing from the left to the front of the screen; during that, a blue map of the Earth "reflects" on a globe. Once a green ball attaches itself to the bottom of the NTV letters, the letters flash and disappear; and a green ball fades out as four light purple lines appear forming a transparent light purple vertical thick line at the upper-left corner of the screen. Then, the word "Репортажи" appears at the top of the screen (along with its bigger, transparent, out-of-focus copy), with the first letter fading in and the other ones flipping one-by-one, and a bigger thick line is formed by light lines at the bottom-left corner of the screen as a bigger word "Новости" appears in the same way as the former text at the bottom of the screen. During the formation of these words, a blue map of the Earth disappears, and a white-colored outline of a map of the Earth, with its red glow, appears inside a globe, moving to the right. The word "Репортажи", along with a thick line at the upper-left, fades out and a taller line is formed in the same corner as the word "Интервью" appears in the middle near the upper-left corner. As the word "Интервью" and a line fade out, a taller line is formed near the bottom-middle of the screen, and the word "Спорт" appears near the right side of the screen as a purple/pink glowing map of the Earth appears inside a globe, sliding from the left, and the outline of a world map goes away. Then, the text of Segodnya logo appears in the middle of the screen, forming via several sparkles and sliding to the left at a tilted angle as a thicker line is formed at the upper-left corner, with the word "Погода" appearing near the upper-right corner. When the word "Спорт", along with a line at the bottom-middle, fades out, a globe zooms out as light yellow letters of Segodnya logo are revealed outside a globe as the forming letters go away from the screen, and the word "Погода" disappears, with its first letter, along with a line, fading out. As the Segodnya logo settles itself near the bottom-right corner of the screen, with a globe turning into an Earth one, a large word "Вечером" appears in the middle of the screen, with the first letter being in 3D. Several purple thin lines are seen flying in the background; two boxes, containing the same version of the NTV logo (with a green ball), albeit not italicized, rotating at a tilted angle, fade in at the upper-left and bottom-right corners. A spotlight appears shining through a letter "В".

Variants: Each variation of an intro has a short variant.

Morning:
- 1996-1997: On a shady orange liquid-like background, there are several pieces of a silver outer outline of Segodnya logo slowly flying, forming themselves and settling to the left near the top of the screen as four light yellow horizontal/vertical lines form in the background. As the inner outlines of the logo, along with a green ball, fade in, the background fades to a footage of a light device, filling the background with white.
- 1996-1998: On the same shady orange liquid-like background, there is the same animation of the Segodnya logo from the Daytime intro, but the logo zooms out to the middle of the screen. When the logo zooms out to its place, an orange lens flare flash occurs in the middle of the screen. There are also several transparent thick lines moving in the background.
Daytime: A purple-ish Earth globe is seen rotating against a shady orange liquid-like background with several flying thin lines. A wide, oval-shaped light blue flash occurs in the middle of the screen, causing a thick turquoise/silver border to appear in front of a globe. Then, the globe zooms out and a border rotates to reveal that it's actually a blue-ish text of Segodnya logo, with a globe being inside a letter "О" of the text; and several blurry, horizontal bars appear flying, overlapping the screen with a light blue color. When the logo zoomed out to its place, several horizontal/vertical thin lines form in the background as the text of the logo turns brighter and the globe turns into a mirror glass green one.
Evening:
- 1996-1997: The sequence consists of several clips of a regular intro, excluding the texts, superimposed onto each other. At the end, Segodnya logo appears zooming out to the bottom of the screen.
- 1997-1998: On a black background, a white outline of a small box draws itself at the upper-right corner of the screen, and the rotating purple/blue NTV logo, contained within a box, fades in. Then, a larger box containing the same NTV logo fades in the middle of the screen behind a smaller one as a group of thirteen red horizontal lines forms and glows one-by-one at the upper-left corner of the screen. A small Segodnya print logo fades in and out, glowing at the upper-right corner of the screen as a group of five blue vertical lines forms and glows one-by-one at the bottom-right corner of the screen.

- 1996-1997: A peaceful truimphant/string theme over a pizzicato tune.
- 1997-1998: A bombastic orchestral fanfare.
Daytime: A truimphant theme sounding similar to the 1996 Morning intro with an electric piano sounder, ending with an orchestral hit.
Evening:
- 1996-1997: A quiet string/xylophone tune that builds up to a dramatic truimphant theme.
- 1997-1998: A dramatic orchestral theme with a choir sounder and slow drum/cymbal beat.

Visuals: The sequence starts with a giant wavy white flag, containing the NTV print logo of the time, against a blue-ish background. After a while, the flag with an NTV logo fades out and a purple-ish blue glowing globe (of which the landmasses are made of icospheres, it also has two rings attached to it) is revealed rotating, while zooming out through four wide flags (with three of them being in colors of a Russian flag, and one of them is light blue) against a light blue wavy flag background. When a globe fades away, two transparent copies of the white text "СЕГОДНЯ" appear over the screen, sliding slowly to the left. After a while, several glowing lights appear in the middle of the screen one-by-one, forming the word "СЕГОДНЯ" (in FF DIN Condensed font, but with a beveled corner of a letter "Д" of the text), with its white glow, as several variations of a letter С form near the left of the text; at first, two transparent white simplistic letters "С" form, then a blue smaller ring with its upper-right cut-out, and finally, a big transparent serif letter "С". During the formation of the logo, the transparent white text "информационная" appears via a blur effect near the top-right of the screen, the same text, albeit fully visible and in dark blue and contained within a blurry white line, appears via the same blur effect near the bottom-left of the screen, and a transparent outlined bar, containing the transparent white text "ПРОГРАММА", appears via the same blur effect above the transparent text "информационная". During the appearence of the text "СЕГОДНЯ", both sides of a white wide flag fade out, and the white flag itself becomes more wider.

Variants:

Starting in 2000, a TV channel URL appears at the bottom-left corner of the screen (where NTV on-screen bug is located) letter-by-letter; a small outlined square is also seen flickering in front of appearance of each letter of URL.
A morning broadcast variant exists: it's the same as the regular variant, but the NTV flag at the beginning is absent. Everything also moves at a faster pace. Also, when a globe fades away through wide flags, the exact same globe fades in against the flags with circular lines moving around it, which also fades out. After that, the forming logo with the words appears in the same way as usual.
There are also four short variants:
- The first one starts with multiple transparent gray words "СЕГОДНЯ" zooming out and disappear over a background consisting of a blue wavy flag with a dark overlay of a close-up shot of a wavy NTV flag. The same styles of a letter С form in the left side of the screen, but when two transparent rings form, they fade away as a simpilfied dark blue letter "С", with its white glow, forms in the place of these rings, surrounding a smaller ring with its upper-right cut-out. A serif letter "С" is also darker. During the formation of these letters, a transparent white text "СЕГОДНЯ", with its drop shadow, appears zooming out near the right side of the screen, and glows letter-by-letter to a blue color with its white glow.
- The second one has the same background from above, but with a red wide flag at the bottom of the screen. A glowing globe is shown zooming out on the left side of the screen; a lens flare flash occurs, causing the program logo to appear, with the letters С having a white glow.
- The third one is basically a short recreation of the regular variant, but there are two wide flags (transparent white and red ones) in the background. The background itself is the same as two short variants above. A purple-ish blue glowing globe is also seen zooming out behind the forming logo near the left side of the screen. This variant is also used as an altrenate of the morning intro.
- The fourth one has a background consisting of a light blue wavy flag, with white and red wide flags near the bottom of the screen. A glowing globe zooms out near the left side of the screen and the logo forms itself along with texts "информационная" and "ПРОГРАММА".
Two special variants exist:
- The first one is basically the same as the first short variant, but multiple transparent gray words "СЕГОДНЯ" are absent at the beginning. A red wide flag is seen on the bottom of the screen in front of a glowing globe in the middle of the screen. The logo forms in the same way as the aforementioned short variant as a transparent white, wide flag appears flying at the bottom of the screen. When the logo is formed, a blue horizontal bar, containing the white text "ВЫПУСК", fades in the place of a program title with its white glow, and the word "специальный" appears above a bar letter-by-letter via a blur effect.
- The second one begins with the ending of the regular intro, but when the letters С start to form, the texts turn into a small white glow, and a blue horizontal bar, containing the white text "ВЫПУСК", fades in the front of a glow as the word "экстренный" appears above a bar letter-by-letter via the same blur effect.

Visuals: The sequence starts on a blue gradient environment with a mirror glass cylindrical border and several transparent columns. The camera zooms at a tilted angle as several linear and circular light blue lines (both thin and thick), along with transparent rings, appear forming a globe consisting of multiple small dots and glowing blue/turquoise continents. As the globe appears, several rings of white multiple words ("ИНФОРМАЦИЯ", "НОВОСТИ", "ПОЛИТИКА" and "СПОРТ") appear in the middle and fly away, along with the rest of linear and circular lines. The screen then wipes via several horizontal bars sliding from the left to another shot, where the globe is located at the bottom-right in the same environment, but with two transparent, glowing thin rings rotating around a globe. As the camera slowly turns to the top of a globe, the background fades to a new environment consisting of several moving circular, horizontal bars in light blue gradient. As the globe fades out, several variations of a letter С from the previous intro, albeit in 3D, fly out from the right to the middle; the differences with these letters is that the transparent ones are fully visible, and the serif letter "С" is lighter. During the appearence of these letters, a biggest letter shines with a lens flare flash and two green vignette bars appear in the background, forming a circular border near the bottom of the screen, which also contains multiple small copies of the transparent white text "СЕГОДНЯ" slowly sliding to the left. During that, the word "СЕГОДНЯ" (in the same font as before, but with a normal version of a letter "Д"), with its white glow, fades in while slowly sliding from the right next to the letters С.

Variants:

Starting in 2002, a TV channel URL appears below the program title letter-by-letter.
A short variant has the shot of several lines forming a globe. When a globe is formed, the word "СЕГОДНЯ" (in white Helios Bold font with its shadow) appears from the right, circling a globe and rotating to the center of the screen, and a shiny green border (which has the same copies of the word "СЕГОДНЯ" as the regular variant) wipes in behind the text.
A special variant is basically same as the short one, but instead of a program title, "специальный выпуск" appears, with the latter word appearing from the left.

The camera zooms in as several mirror glass semirings fade in, while flipping around a globe as a lens flare disappears. The rings of the same words from the previous intro appear and fly out as the background turns into a blue-green gradient with multiple dots and white horizontal lines. When the camera comes closer to the globe, the screen wipes via two of the semirings to a dark blue aurora background with a slowly moving light blue map of the Earth and several spinning transparent white rings. A green downward arc wipes in from the left at the top half of the screen, separating the background into two colors. During that, the logo appears in the same animation as before, and a transparent circle containing a green shade fades in behind the letters С. A TV channel URL appears at the bottom of the screen with a lens flare flash.

Variants:

In the morning broadcast variant, the background after the transition consists of a blue-green gradient with shades of white, slowly moving transparent map of the Earth, several spinning transparent white rings and several white circular diagonal bars. A transparent circle behind the letters С also has a dark shade.
In the evening broadcast variant, the background after the transition has a different dark blue aurora background, a dark blue map of the Earth with its light glow, and several white circular diagonal bars. During the globe animation, the gradient of the background is also dark blue.
The variants with the text of a newscaster has a blurry green line, containing the white text of a newscaster (in Russell Square font), fading in and sliding from the right above the program title near the right side of the screen.
A special broadcast variant exists, where instead of a logo forming in the end of an intro, a bar consisting of its two-colored horizontal parts slides in from the sides of the screen; its upper part, which slides in from the left, is transparent red and contains the word "ЭКСТРЕННЫЙ"; its bottom part is transparent blue and contains the word "выпуск".
A 10 PM broadcast variant is the same as the regular evening one, but it also has a blurry dark blue bar, containing the time (in white Russell Square font) the program is supposed to start, appears sliding from behind the letters С below the program title.
A New Year variant also exists. The screen before the transition to the logo has icy patterns at the corners of the screen; the background during the globe animation also turns into a blue-bright purple/yellow gradient. In the background (which is the same as the evening variant) during the formation of a logo, the continents also have a bright yellow/pink/red glow. There is also a snowfall in the background.

Audio: A dramatic orchestral fanfare which was also composed by Oleg Emirov; it starts off with a 4-note bell tune, followed by a 5-note horn/violin theme with a drum/cymbal beat, and ends with a majestic 5-note bell/violin tune.

As the camera zooms out to its place where an Earth globe would be shown near the left side of the screen, a group of several spinning transparent light blue circular lines, with one of them being very thick, pans down to the center of a globe, and forms a thick letter "С", with a light blue glowing vertical arc on the left next to it. A blurry, horizontal blue border, along with a thin green line on the bottom of it and multiple transparent copies of a program title slowly sliding in the middle of a border, forms in the middle of the background, with its middle part being visible through a globe. On the news broadcast which aired on July 10, 2006, a lime shade of the background, along with a thin line of a bottom of a border and a vertical arc next to a letter "С", is red. The beaming circles remain appearing in the background, with a green light being located behind them.

Variants:

A special release variant has a turquoise gradient border appearing below a dark blue gradient bar near the bottom-right via a white blurry bar sliding from the left; the border contains the stacked text "Специальный выпуск".
The variants for 10:40 PM, 10:45 PM, 11:00 PM and 11:15 PM broadcasts have a green gradient border wiping smoothly next to a dark blue gradient bar before it flickers and places itself to an upper side of the screen, and the time the program is supposed to start, in white, wipes in on a border.
New Year variants:
- The 2007-2008 variant has a snowfall of simpilfied, outlined snowflakes, and the green shades of the intro are light blue-ish.
- The 2008-2011 variants are same as above, but there are also three green Christmas balls hanging on light blue branches of the Christmas tree, zooming out against the background at the top of the screen. There are also several colorful ribbons flying across a globe before the formation of the logo.
- On the news broadcast which aired on December 31, 2011, there are icy patterns growing in the corners of the screen; the same snowfall is also seen.
Victory Day variants:
- On the news broadcast which aired on May 9, 2008, when the screen zooms out, a wavy, long ribbon of Saint George fades in behind a globe on the right side of the screen. Also, when the program title forms, a blurry bar, containing a footage of an eternal flame of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on a red floor, fades in below a dark blue gradient bar near the bottom-right corner of the screen; next to an eternal flame is the golden stacked text "1941 1945" (years of an Eastern Front of World War II).
- On the news broadcast which aired on May 9, 2009, a giant ribbon of Saint George appears from the left behind a globe when its revealed. Then, when the camera zoomed out to its place, a red star with its golden outline fades in while sliding from the right, and settles itself next to a globe. During the formation of a program title, a transparent black bar is formed via a bright blurry bar sliding from the left below a dark blue gradient bar, and the text "ДЕНЬ ПОБЕДЫ" appears on a transparent black bar.

Visuals: The sequence starts with several moving, thick green/cyan/blue semirings which are also passing through each other, surrounding a globe consisting of multiple moving, thin light blue rings on a shady dark blue-cyan background. The camera comes closer to the globe as multiple rings on it disappear, and reflective green continents of the Earth (which are made of hexagons) began to form on a globe with a light blue outline. A globe begins to rotate as the camera zooms out, and a transparent glowing ring consisting of multiple lines (which are made of dots) with maps of the Earth appears circling a globe. As the camera keeps zooming out, several glowing lines appear forming some sort of text, also zooming out. As the camera finally zoomed out to its place where a globe would be shown on the left side of the screen, with semirings slowly spinning around it, a text (which glowing lines are forming) is finally formed by a blurry light blue bar sliding from the left and zooms out to the middle of the screen; it consists of the shiny text "СЕГОДНЯ", with a bigger letter "С" surrounding a normal "С", and a shady blue horizontal bar behind the text which shines. A bigger transparent ring is also revealed on one of the semirings, consisting of multiple words of topics related to the news. A bigger copy of a glowing ring of multiple lines with maps of the Earth is also seen at the bottom of the screen. The continets of the Earth are also revealed moving in the background.

Trivia: It should be noted that even though this intro debuted in 2012, the logo itself made its debut a year earlier for an intro of Segodnya Itogi, which was used until August 28, 2014.

Later Variant: Starting on April 17, 2013, when NTV started broadcasting in widescreen, the intro is in 16:9 ratio.

Variants:

A special release variant has a shady, blurry orange bar wiping in below the logo, along with the stacked text "специальный выпуск".
An evening broadcast variant, which debuted in 2015, has a different theme of the intro. It consists of four zooming shots of a globe, constisting of the continents glowing in orange one-by-one, above a large, circular container in a light blue outer space-like environment with transparent maps of the Earth. Two dark blue/orange curves fly around a globe, causing multiple dark, circular bars to appear in the container as they glow in orange one-by-one. In the final shot, the camera zooms out from one of the continents of the globe, and zooms out to its place at a tilted angle where the globe would be shown near the left side of the screen as the Segodnya logo from the regular variant appears, with its letters flying and flipping from the right to the center of the screen, while the horizontal bar grows in from a bigger letter "С". Then, the logo shines and zooms in while sliding to the right, causing the screen to transition to a news studio.
New Year variants:
- The regular variant has the same snowfall from the previous intro; at the end, there are also icy patterns growing in the sides of the screen.
- The evening broadcast variant has moving snowflakes in the environment.
Victory Day variants (2015-2017):
- In the regular variant, the background is shady sea green, and semirings along with a globe are red/yellow/dark gray. Also, when the logo forms, a shiny red star, along with a long, wavy ribbon of Saint George near the bottom of the screen, fades in behind the logo near the left side of it; and when the logo is formed, a dark red gradient bar, along with a long, wavy ribbon of Saint George behind the logo, wipes in below a shady blue bar of the logo; a bar below contains the white text "ДЕНЬ ПОБЕДЫ".
  - In 2015 (during the celebration of the 70th anniversary of victory), instead of a dark red gradient bar, a white bar, containing the text "ПОБЕДА! 70 ЛЕТ", wipes in below.
- In the evening broadcast variant, when the logo forms, the same shiny star zooms in behind the logo near the left side of it. Then, the same dark red gradient bar with the white text wipes in below. The star with a bar then move in the same way as the Segodnya logo.

Visuals: The sequence starts with a shady green cube, containing the current NTV logo, in the middle of a dark blue aurora environment. The camera slowly turns around a cube as multiple light blue vertical/horizontal lines with dots began to form in the environment; another NTV logo is then revealed on the right side of a cube. The NTV logos on a cube began shooting bright green lines as everything is revealed to be on a glassy surface. A surface turns into multiple dark green panes. The screen then cuts to a shot of several cubes with NTV logos shooting at each other on a dark green surface with multiple blocky holes in it, with multiple light blue vertical lines shooting through some of them. Then, the screen fades to a zooming shot, revealing that everything happens on a globe consisting of the continents made of multiple panes, with a blue glow and a long 3D-effect with a green light shining inside a globe. As the camera zoomed out, a blue light appears at the upper-right corner of the screen. The screen then fades to a panning shot of a globe with cubes which are now glowing. Finally, the screen cuts to a black-blue gradient background, with a globe, which now has glowing patterns on it, at the bottom of the screen and the reflections of multiple light blue vertical lines of a globe at the top of the screen. As the zooming of the camera slows down, a lens flare flash occurs in the middle of the screen, causing a spaced-out word "СЕГОДНЯ", in white, to rise (a la Thames Television logo) in the middle of the screen; and then two stylized, bigger letters "С" fade in, surrounding a smaller letter "С" of the text. In the end, the intro transitions to the news studio via two glowing, rotating 3D letters "С" sliding from left to right.

Variants:

In the evening broadcast variant, the color of stylized letters "С", along with a light inside a globe, is blue.
There are several variants with the text of a newscaster: when the logo is formed, a green thick line, containing the white text of a newscaster, smoothly wipes in below the text of the logo.
A special release variant is the same as the evening broadcast variant, but there is also a blue thick line, containing the white stacked text "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ ВЫПУСК", smoothly wiping in below the text of the logo in the final shot.
New Year variants:
- In the 2018-2022 variant, when cubes start to shooting at each other, gigantic blue snowflakes began to form in their places on a globe. The rest is the same as the evening broadcast variant.
- Starting in 2022, gigantic mirror glass snowflakes are appearing floating above the cubes. The snowflakes are also seen in the reflection at the top of the screen in the final shot. The color of stylized letters "С", along with a light inside a globe, is also plain blue.
Victory Day variant: In this variant, the background along with a light inside a globe and stylized letters "С" is tinted orange. Also, when the logo is formed, a red thick line, containing the white text "ДЕНЬ ПОБЕДЫ", smoothly wipes in below the text of the logo.
