British Warning Screen

(1979-1980's)

Warning: On a black background, we see the following text in a Rockwell font:

The copyright proprietor has
licensed the Program contain-
ed in this video-cassette for
private non-commercial use
only and prohibits any other
use, copying or reproduction
in whole or in part.
Offence entails liability to pay
damages and the full penalty
of the law.

This is only on-screen for three seconds.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on UK pre-certs of children's videos by Select Video. Among these are Inspector Gadget, The Lone Ranger, and Shazam!. Most releases feature it before the logo, while The Lone Ranger has it come on afterward.

German Warning Screen

(1980's)

Warning: On a black background, we see the following text in orange Futura font:

Der Copyright-Inhaber hat den Film
auf dieser Videocassette ausschließlich
zur privaten Nutzung freigegeben
und verbietet teilweise und vollständige
anderweitige Nutzung, Vervielfältigung,
Überspielung und öffentliche Vorführung.

We then fade to a copyright notice, with white bolded text.

Translation:
The copyright owner has released the film on this videocassette exclusively for private use and prohibits partial and complete other use, misuse, dubbing or public performance.

FX/SFX: The appearance of the warning one-by-one.
