Background: Selmur Productions was founded in 1961 by Selig J. Seligman as a production sub-arm of ABC Films, the former syndication division of the ABC Television Network. Today, CBS Corporation through CBS Television Distribution and Spelling Television Inc. owns most of the Selmur library and handles North American rights, while Disney Home Media Distribution only handles the international rights.

Nickname: "Huge S"

Logo: On the closing credits, we would see a huge, oddly-designed "S". The text:

PRODUCED BY SELMUR PRODUCTIONS INC.

"SELMUR" and "PRODUCTIONS" appear inside the "S". The entire text is in the same font as the "S".

Variants:

On the first season of Combat!, before the opening, a pre-open would be shown, and the Selmur logo appears during the pre-open. The announcer would say, "Combat! A Selmur Production!". The first season closing credits would have just text, in this format:

SELMUR PRODUCTIONS In Association With ABC TELEVISION NETWORK

Filmed at METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER STUDIOS

On 1963-1967 episodes of General Hospital, the logo scrolls in the credits and does not feature "PRODUCED BY" at the top nor "INC." on the bottom.

FX/SFX: Some shows it's superimposed. On other shows such as General Hospital, it's the credits scrolling.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Rare. It was seen on Combat!, Shindig!, 1963-1967 episodes of General Hospital, and the short-lived series Garrison's Gorillas.

Editor's Note: None.
