Background

Shalimar Swat is a Pashto audiovisual distribution company.

Logo (2000s)

Visuals: On a white background, a yellow circle is shown containing a 3D blue "S" with multiple rainbows around it, with a red-colored ribbon filmstrip shape containing the yellow text "SHALIMAR", and the text handwritten-like "Swat" at the bottom section of the "S", with a picture of a sitar next to it. The logo stays still for about three seconds, then it begins shrinking to the center and expands again. After that, the "SHALIMAR" text is cut out from the ribbon and zooms away to the top. The logo slightly zooms back and the white filmstrip holes of the ribbon begin to zoom away, followed by the border of the ribbon, the filling of the ribbon, the "Swat" text, and the sitar picture, with the latter elements also sliding out from view. After most of these disappear, the "S" stretches vertically and slides out, and the remaining background with the circle zooms in, as a white flare passes. The screen then cuts to a black background where powder blue ripples begin forming another circle, and a picture of grass begins stretching in to the bottom front of the formed circle. Digital artifacts appear at the top of the circle, and a green, glossy "S" wipes in from the bottom. The logo cuts to a clearer version of the same design with a stone and a mushroom shown on the grass. Soon after, pictures of a frog, a mushroom, a violin, two microphones, a CD, and a red-orange ribbon zoom into various parts of the design in sync to the beat, with the ribbon placed at the front center of the "S". The white, outlined "SHALIMAR" then zooms out to the front of the ribbon. Green lights briefly appear moving around, then a green flare appears zooming out into the logo, as these later remain shining behind the design with the logo fading in and out often. At the side borders, multiple flowers and yellow star particles begin to fall. After a while, the animation of the flower/star particles plays in reverse and the logo rotates and zooms out into one of the flares, then moves back to its position, appearing larger than before. A bright flare then moves in front of the "SHALIMAR" text as the lights remain glowing in the background, and then the logo zooms away to the left back to one of the emerging flares. The screen cuts to black, and the same design appears zooming out over a light blue/white gradient background, with the text "SHALIMAR SWAT PRESENTS" shown above it. After a while, the whole logo zooms in.

Technique: Mostly computer animation, with the flowers being stock footage.

Audio: The instrumental of "Mon Yo Riwaj Na Manu" by Rahim Shah. During the middle, when the elements of the new logo zoom out, a tabla hit from the song choppily repeats. The same music then resumes for a while before fading out, with a whoosh being heard when the light passes in front of the text. At the end, a cymbal and three tom notes play.

Availability: It was spotted on a VCD of Da Jalay Tagan.
