Background

Shazam is a music recognition service downloadable in many app forms, originally founded in 1999 in the United Kingdom. They did not use an animated logo at the end of a production until 2017.

1st Logo (May 25, 2017-)

Logo: On a blue gradient background, we see two curved lines form the Shazam logo inside a light blue circle. The circle then bounces to the left of the screen to make room for the corporate name in white, which quickly fades in one-by-one.

FX/SFX: The symbol and the word.

Music/Sounds: A whoosh sound or none.

Availability: Seen on Beat Shazam on FOX.

2nd Logo (October 26, 2022-)

Logo: We see the Shazam icon on the same blue gradient background from before, but the white parts are absent, leaving the gradient background inside the logo. The stylized "S" then transforms to become white, and centers to the screen and transforms into the Shazam app UI.

Variants:

  • Portrait and landscape versions exist.
  • The default settings have the normal light mode UI. If dark mode is enabled, the logo transitions right into the UI in the dark mode look.

FX/SFX: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen when the Shazam app is opened starting with version 13.3.1. This logo—and the feature—was first introduced in Android 12. Older versions just cut straight into the UI.
