Background

Shudder is a subscription video-on-demand service owned and operated by AMC Networks, launched in 2015. It specializes in horror, thriller, and supernatural fiction releases.

1st Logo (2017)

Visuals: On a black background, a red image fills in the entire screen, which appears to be a closeup of a TV. The screen then dims down, as red smoke fills out the insides of the word "SHUDDER" in the middle, where we can also see an extreme closeup of a human eye appearing once the action is complete. The eye blinks, which causes the footage to glitch out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: VHS glitching can be heard along with sounds of blood squishing when "SHUDDER" fades in.

Availability: Seen on Sweet, Sweet Lonely Girl and Found Footage 3D.

2nd Logo (August 18, 2020-)

Visuals: On a black background are red lines, as the letters of "SHUDDER" appear one-by-one. The logo then flickers and glitches with static.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: An ascending horror-like theme with synth drones. This was composed by John Carpenter, who known for directing and composing soundtrack for his own film such as Halloween, They Live, Escape from New York and Christine.

Avaiity: Seen on current releases of Shudder originals on Blu-ray, such as Prevenge, Seance, Caveat and V/H/S 94.
