1st Logo (1989-1991)

Nickname: "SouthGate in Space"

Logo: On a zooming space background, several gold filmstrips quickly fly in one by one. Afterwards, they "explode" and turn into the golden SouthGate Entertainment logo, which has a tree and the word "SOUTHGATE" in a Playhouse Video-esque font. The word "ENTERTAINMENT' was seen below.

FX/SFX: The space background, the filmstrips flying, the explosion to the SouthGate logo.

Variant: An in-credit variant exists.

Music/Sounds: A dramatic fanfare was heard, followed by loud whoosh sounds when the filmstrips fly in. It was followed by an explosion-like sound and a horn note.
