Background

Steel Valley Film Services was based in Clairton, Pennsylvania. It was well known for trailers, and intermission drive-in ads, among others. In the late 1980's, Steel Valley Films were sold through Derann's import catalogue of "Movieola" titles.[1]

Logo (1980s)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a white outlined stylized bucket-like with gold rays sticking out of it. Golden liquid sticks out of the bucket, forming a thin gold bar attached to it and when it's formed, the company's name is wiped in upwards, and it all flashes in white. The rays are now teal, the name is all in teal with a white outline around it. It all shines at a fast pace.

Technique: Backlit cel animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Spotted on a reprint of the 1934 short film Once Upon a Time.
