Background

This is the continuity bumper used by Tahiti Nui Television.

Bumper (June 29, 2000-June 29, 2010?)

Visuals: The bumper involves a live-action person doing activities on a beach. As the activity occurs, the scene freezes and the camera suddenly moves, turning the scene into an illusion that involves the island of French Polynesia. After that, the scene continues. Later, a white outlined rectangle appears on the right with "PUB" on the bottom-left of it.

Variants: Two bumpers are known to have existed:

• A girl with a red flower on the left side of her head and wearing a yellow dress is seen watering the plant inside the flower pot (the plant is not shown on-screen). Just then, the camera rotates to its side view, showing the island of French Polynesia, making it look like she is watering the island inside a flower pot.
• A shirtless man wearing blue shorts is shown preparing to throw a stick. As he is about to do so, the camera zooms out, revealing the island of French Polynesia. The man then throws the stick into the island (the stick actually lands on the sand, but the illusion causes it to happen). He then backs away a little bit.

Technique: Live-action, with digital editing for the text.

Audio: A long-held synth note, with a man shouting "Pub" at the end.
