Talk:Dolby Stereo

What were the first and last years the Dolby Stereo trailers were used?

I want to know suggestions about when the Dolby Stereo trailers were first and last used. ChristianTheHedgehog (talk) 16:45, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

In theory, they all could have been used for a long time, depending on what theatres had and how long they kept them all in circulation. The regular "DOLBY STEREO" ones (including the SR versions) could have well been used into the mid-late 90s, while the last one (with "DOLBY") could have been used into the 2000s. So something like that could very well be impossible to gauge accurately. It depends on the theatres themselves that ran them. I'm thinking this is one of those things we will never truly know... I also wanted to know suggestions for the last year each trailer was used in, and the first year, and not mid-late 1990s and 2000s. ChristianTheHedgehog (talk) 13:31, 13 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
The first and second trailers probably premiered around the same time (probably late 1978), and the third trailer was possibly first used in 1986 (the Dolby Stereo version) and the Dolby Stereo SR version and the fourth trailer were first used in 1987. The sixth trailer was possibly used until 2001 (which also was when the fifth trailer possibly stopped usage), but these are all suggestions. ChristianTheHedgehog (talk) 11:32, 19 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
