Background
Tele1st was a short-lived subscription television service by ABC, which aired films and lifestyle programs for later viewing via a video recorder. The catch was that scrambling codes were changed regularly, meaning that recordings would only work for a limited time. The service ran from January 17 to June 30, 1984.
