Background
Tribeca Productions is a production company founded in 1989 by actor Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal in the lower Manhattan neighborhood of Tribeca. Since 2002, the company also organizes the annual Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Despite being founded in 1989, the company did not utilize an onscreen logo until 23 years later.
Logo (April 15, 2012-)
Visuals: On a black background, a lowercase letter "t" emerges from the darkness with a white light behind it. As the light grows brighter, the camera changes angles multiple times until the finished product is revealed; the letter casts a shadow of an uppercase "T" onto a black rectangle. Below the rectangle is the stacked name "TRIBECA PRODUCTIONS". The light flickers, reminiscent of a film projector.
Variants:
- On When They See Us, the logo is still.
- On About a Boy, the logo shares the screen with the Working Title Television logo.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: A 7-note jazz horn sounder, the closing theme or none.
Availability: It debuted on the short-lived CBS series NYC 22 and later appeared on the series About a Boy and When They See Us. The first film to use this logo was 2019's The Irishman.
