Turner Home Entertainment (Closed Captioned Bumpers)

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

1st ID (1987-1994)

Visuals: On a blue/black gradient background, there is a large white Closed Captioned logo with a gray drop shadow set in the middle. It then zooms out to the left and then to the lower right of the screen and the following white words (also with gray drop shadow) fade in on the left:

CLOSED CAPTIONED
FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED

Technique: Zooming and fading effects.

Variant: On some tapes, the background is green/black gradient, the Closed Captioned logo zooms out to the lower left, and the text fades in on the right. Sometimes, however, it is a blue/black gradient with a blue line pattern instead for the background.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Turner Home Entertainment releases from 1987 to 1994, such as Ken Burns' Baseball.

2nd ID (1994-1997)

Closed Captioned
for the hearing impaired.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Turner Home Entertainment releases from 1996 to 1997.
