Background

UGC Fox Distribution (UFD) was formed by UGC and 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios) to distribute movies across France. Ultimately it was absorbed into the French division of Fox in 2005.

Logo (1995-2005)

Visuals: On a black background, the blue letters "UFD" rotate around at an angle while 2 searchlights scroll across the sky. When the letters stop, the searchlights freeze at a crossing point and the letters are taken into a grey box with white searchlights. Below, "UGC FOX DISTRIBUTION" can be seen below in a squashed font.

Variant: There was also a still variant where the letters are in 2D and cast a shadow.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A short horn fanfare with percussion heard throughout.

Availability: Seen on French releases of 20th Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures and MGM films among others, such as Amélie, mostly before the UGC logo.
