About

I will be using these sandbox pages to describe logos that are not on the site yet, mostly from companies who have an extensive graphic identity history, or companies that have other logos that are not described on their AVID page.

If you want to make a page using my own descriptions (or if you want to use a mix of your own descriptions for logos that I hadn't covered with my own existing ones), please make sure to contact me before doing so (either on my talk page or Discord) and add me in the credits.

Also make sure to search my to-do list for logos that I am planning to cover in here.

FISA

COUNTRY: Venezuela
STATUS: PARTIAL
Type of company: Personal care products manufacturer

Background

FISA is a Venezuelan manufacturer of personal care products founded in 1955. Their products line includes the Every Night hair gel and the Drene shampoos and conditioners.

Tag (2000s-2010s)

Visuals: On a black or white background, a vertical, rounded rectangle containing a linear drawing of a person having its arms stretched to the right, rotates in zooming out while the letters of "FISA", in the same material, appear one-by-one. Below the name, the texts "Expertos en cuidado personal" and "Desde 1955" are shown in white. The RIF code of the company is shown aligned vertically near the top-left of the screen.

Variants:

  • Early commercials featuring this tag had a black background with the logo and name in silver.
  • Since 2011, the colors have been inverted, with the background now in white and the logo and text in glossy black.

Technique: CGI.

Audio:

  • The ending of the commercial, with an announcer saying "De FISA".
  • Early commercials feature a metallic whooshing sound along with the announcer.

Availability: Seen at the end of their commercials for the Every Night and Drene lines of products.

Tums

COUNTRY: United States
STATUS: PARTIAL
Type of company: Medicine product

Background

Tums is an antacid product manufactured by Haleon in St. Louis, MO.

Tag (1981-1990s)

Visuals: On a black background, the packaging for Tums is shown at the center. There are four close-up cuts that gradually increase to the beat, before the screen cuts to the spokesperson of the commercial holding the same product and smiling at the camera.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, like on a 1986 commercial, the last shot is another close-up of the product instead of the spokesperson.
  • On commercials aired in Canada, the text "Beecham Canada Inc." appears near the bottom-right corner.

Technique: Stop-motion, with the final shot usually being live-action.

Audio: A dramatic 5-note piano theme with a group of men repeatedly singing "Tums" and "Tum" to the beat, in the style of the Dragnet theme. The last note has a timpani roll.

Availability: Seen at the end of their 1980s commercials, which often have spokespersons endorsing the product.
