RfC rejection

After seeing that you rejected the RfC I made today about the CinemaSins page no one cares about, I just copy-and-pasted my rant into the talk section of the page in question. Is this acceptable? TapLover (talk) 20:32, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes and if you want to call further attention to this, nominate the page for deletion. Camenati (talk) 20:35, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Elmo rocks star vandalizing the HIT Entertainment and A.K.A. Cartoon pages

Oh Camenati, a user named Elmo rock star has just vandalized both the HIT Entertainment and A.K.A. Cartoons pages.

That user needs to be banned ASAP. Michael Kenchington (talk) 19:31, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thames, Central and Tiger Television logos on the DVD prints of Mr. Bean

Hey Camenati, you know that on the original 1994 airings of the Mr. Bean episodes titled "Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean" and "Mind the Baby, Mr. Bean", respectively, the 1990 "A Central Presentation for ITV" endcap appears at the end of them.

See here: (for Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean and at around 3:26): [1]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd_hXefSJaI

And for Mind the Baby, Mr. Bean: (at around 0:57): [2]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaOHR1_In1I

However, it does not appear on the DVD print of the former for unknown reasons, while the DVD print of the latter uses the 1990 "A Central Programme for ITV" endcap instead, see here (at around 8:11): [3]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx-DyxXyLNs

That endcap is also exactly the same as the one that was shown on the 1991 reruns of the second series of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends on Children's ITV and also at the end of The Driven Man with Rowan Atkinson.

If you would like to find out which DVD prints have the Thames, Central and Tiger Television logos appear on the Mr. Bean UK DVD releases, then have a look at Alex Vintila's YouTube page to search for Mr. Bean DVD prints of episodes (albeit split into three parts). Here's the link: [4]https://www.youtube.com/@Alex94Gerrard/videos

I've also already added information about the 1969 Thames Colour Production endcap appearing at the end of the French dubbing prints of the first three Mr. Bean episodes to the Thames page last year. If you would also like to have a look at the Mr. Bean France YouTube page to which both the Thames skyline ident frontcap and endcap and the 1989 Tiger Television logo appear on, then here it is: [5]https://www.youtube.com/@MrBeanFrance/videos

Thanks in advance anyway. Michael Kenchington (talk) 16:47, 10 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for letting me know more about those sources and the logos' appearances. I should consider some of them a little more when hunting for more logos (most namingly the former two). Camenati (talk) 17:13, 10 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

A little clarification

If you remember me putting the "Edit section" button in a <noinclude> tag, that was a mistake. I meant to put it in an <includeonly> tag. But if you disagree with what I intended to do, it's fine. I just wanted to clear that up. Gilby1385 (talk) 16:53, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

No, I see your addition with the <includeonly> tag and I think that makes sense. Thank you for clearing things up. Camenati (talk) 17:02, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

ITV reruns of The Pink Panther Show (1969)?

Hey Camenati, i was looking at the DePatie-Freleng Enterprises pages on AVID, and it says that the DFE Films logo was still intact on ITV reruns of The Pink Panther Show (1969).

Is that true or not?

Has The Pink Panther Show (1969) actually ever aired on ITV reruns?

I'm so confused. Michael Kenchington (talk) 18:58, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hey, about the WKAR article edit. I’m fairly new to editing and I don’t know what to put for when adding a new logo when describing changes. If you could help me, that would be amazing! --Eperks6 (talk) 00:56, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

The summary section is optional. It is helpful to tell others what changes you have made to the article, but leaving it blank is fine too. If you are documenting a new logo through page creation or new section addition, you can state "Documenting a new logo" or something similar. Camenati (talk) 00:59, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Apology to Camenati

Hi Camenati, i want to apologise for the various redundant edits that i've made on the AVID Wiki. Listen, i don't want to risk getting blocked for this, but what can i just put in instead? Something like either "is seen", "was seen", or maybe both, perhaps? I just want to redeem myself IMO. Michael Kenchington (talk) 07:07, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

It's alright. We pick ourselves back up from the issues we make. If you want to make these kinds of minor edits, then it would be better if you improved the grammar of pages (this doesn't mean change a single word in a sentence to a similar one). In addition to this, there are plenty of availability pages either under construction or completed for you to add more sources to without having to worry about clogging up the Availability sections on the main articles. About AVID's logo for April Fools' 2024

A logo for Audiovisual Identity Database was used for April Fools' Day 2024, and it's still on the website.

I have a question about this logo, however. Could it actually be an updated logo for AVID? Shawn the Logo Fan 2006 (talk) 02:39, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

The logo was intended for this year's April Fools skin, so it's not a replacement for the current logo. After the wiki reverts back to the old skin, the Aero skin will be available soon as a custom skin setting option. Camenati (talk) 02:42, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

About the edits on the Billionfold Inc. page

Hello Camenati. I want to point out that I was not trying to start an edit war with anyone on the Billionfold, Inc. page. I was only trying to rewrite the Legacy section to make it look better, but a user on this wiki named CrazySpruiker2001 had kept reverting my edits for no reason. I know I should have discuss the conflicting issue with the user instead of reverting their edits further. I do apologize for that. TheOddKid2568 (talk) 01:28, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

About TVARK

Hi Camenati, i've just uploaded an image of the 1993 Scottish Television Production for ITV endcap which i've saved from TVARK last year.

BTW, TVARK is also finally back, which was just in time for its 25th birthday which was exactly last year. Also, have you ever looked at TVARK and also ever consider uploading images of ITV regional endcaps from TVARK to AVID by any chance?

Just asking IMO. Michael Kenchington (talk) 20:00, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

That's interesting. However, I have not fully considered searching TVARK for captures. Either I am not sure where to look for when searching primarily for logos or that archives of TV programming only contain intros, outros, or excerpts, but no logo. Camenati (talk) 20:21, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Rare 1990 "Produced for" Thames Television logo on the 1991 rerun of Jack the Ripper (1988 miniseries) found

Hey Camenati, i've just found a rare 1990 "Produced for" Thames Television logo which was seen on the 1991 rerun of Jack the Ripper (1988 miniseries) on ITV.

The text "PRODUCED FOR" in a Fritz Quadrata font appears above the Thames Television text on the blue triangle logo on the still variant of the 1990 ident.

Here it is (at around 1:15 to 1:20): [6]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abCJAUkl3aU

It doesn't appear on DVD and Blu-ray prints thereof, however.

Should this be added to either the Thames Television or Thames (1968-2006) pages on the AVID Wiki?

What are your thoughts about the rare "Produced for" variant of the still version of the 1990 Thames Television logo which was seen on the 1991 reruns of Jack the Ripper (1988 mini-series) on ITV? Michael Kenchington (talk) 22:15, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

About the Warner Bros. Family Entertainment page

Hey Camenati, I would like to discuss about the Warner Bros. Family Entertainment page. As I have seen in the edit history that the trailer version images have been deleted from 1993-2001 section of the page, I would like to point out that the trailer version is actually the medium-length logo that is seen on the Animaniacs theatrical short "I'm Mad", and not just trailers and TV spots. I was about to add the information about this, but I reconsidered this and thought I would check with you first as I do not want to re-add the images back on the page just yet. Many thanks. TPercival (talk) 08:31, 8 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

If it is not a custom logo variation, or a variant created specifically for the piece of media, then it can go into the main page. Since the difference between this and the main logo appears to be their length rather than a theming change to the logo's overall appearance, then it would make sense to keep it on the main page rather than the trailer subpage. Camenati (talk) 08:38, 8 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much. --TPercival (talk) 08:49, 8 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

An interesting fact that I want to tell you

It's abut the ESPN on ABC logo. I never knew about this logo untill I watched NBA Finals and NHL Stanley Cup Finals last month. I saw this logo commonly because of those games, as they aired on ABC. Kbcars123456 (talk) 22:25, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Now that the RfC on simplifying the wiki's branding to "AVID Wiki" was a success...

We should introduce an updated logo to comply with that. It's the same logo we used last month, but the wiki's full name is replaced with "Wiki", in the same font and color as the previous text. In addition, we should change the wiki's name to simply "AVID Wiki" and update the skins (such as Drypaint) to reflect the updated logo. Shawn the Logo Fan 2006 (talk) 23:51, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

The community generally agreed that the rebranding would take effect on social media handles, but not the wiki. The key word is that the "hybrid system" passed, not that everything submits to the name change. The full name isn't entirely going away. Camenati (talk) 00:05, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh... I see. I didn't realize that the rebranding was only on social media handles, not the entire wiki.

Hey!

Why did you Ban me for 3 days because of "Uncivil Behaviour"!? I Couldn't get the images to work properly and couldn't come up with a good Background, that's all! CookieJarTVNo (talk) 17:05, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please check your talk page for the latest notice containing further reasoning. Camenati (talk) 17:08, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Regarding that bulk of images you "deleted" earlier

Just so you know, you weren't actually deleting the files, instead all you deleted was the page information, which in those cases was the {{Delete}} template. It might be better if you deleted them manually instead of via the "Mass removal of pages selected by DPL query" thing. Gilby1385 (talk) 17:12, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

That is weird since NukeDPL worked with files beforehand, but not with the recent batch. Thanks for the heads up. Camenati (talk) 17:17, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

My draft ban is over

and I am still banned. CookieJarTVNo (talk) 16:02, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

The time at which the ban was in place is 11:58, which is roughly an hour wait before you can return to editing in draftspace again. Camenati (talk) 16:06, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Could I have your permission to place a Legacy section on the Zombastic Productions, Inc. article?

As the title says it all, I need your permission for me to make a Legacy section on the Zombastic Productions article, my reason is because of how the logo ended up having a weird Legacy, with people saying this is one of the scariest and cheesiest logos ever made (even though years later many people say that this is more like a "funny" logo), but I don't know what I'm going to put in order to somehow get it up to AVID standards (so I can try to do something similar to the Legacy from the first Horror Factory Productions logo), so what do I do? Tortuga Tonta Prods. (AKA Mr. Vadimon) (Formerly TPatKB) (this is my, yes, MY talk page) 16:33, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

You can state how the logo has a polarizing reception, using those thoughts to support that with an overall mix of like/dislike for the logo. Camenati (talk) 16:37, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, let's have an idea, while I edit the section, tell me if there is any part to remove and re-edit, right? Tortuga Tonta Prods. (AKA Mr. Vadimon) (Formerly TPatKB) (this is my, yes, MY talk page) 16:42, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Okay, how about this "Legacy: When this logo was first discovered, it was considered one of the scariest logos ever made due to its bizarre nature, which was probably intentional as the company produced horror movies. Over the years the logo was considered "chessy" due to its editing and audio mixing, with many not liking the logo and even finding it funny." This was my first attempt. (I actually started putting it in the article, but I'm still waiting for approval.) Tortuga Tonta Prods. (AKA Mr. Vadimon) (Formerly TPatKB) (this is my, yes, MY talk page) 16:51, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Overall, it looks good, though I suggest separating its positive reception into its own sentence rather than having it follow up a predominantly negative overview.. Camenati (talk) 06:17, 22 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! (Talk to me!) 18:01, 30 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

A question

Why when I made an RfC, it just automatically became a draft? I needed to see what the community thought about it. (Talk to me!) 04:46, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

This is to ensure proposals can come off with a solid amount of thought and reasoning put into them before they can be open for voting, on top of staff feedback on if the idea needs refining or not likely to be implemented. Camenati (talk) 04:57, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok (Talk to me!) 05:02, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Another question

Is it valid to say something like "unknown" in the date section in the header? I want to upload this file: However, I don't know when the logo debuted or dissolved. so, is it valid to do that? (Talk to me!) 01:59, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it's valid. Camenati (talk) 02:00, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks! (Talk to me!) 02:01, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yet another question

Can you please close this RfC? It’s been rejected over a month ago. (Talk to me!) 20:57, 2 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yet another question

Can you close all nominees in AVID:Featured media nominations? They have been open for WAY too long. https://www.avid.wiki/AVID:Featured_Media_Nominations (Talk to me!) 01:46, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Done, alongside your above request. Camenati (talk) 04:45, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks (despite being a while ago), but you forgot to remove the draft templates from the aforementioned RfC! (Talk to me!) 01:48, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for fixing the aforementioned rfc, but also fix this one: AVID:Requests for Comment/AVID X TLW UK

Remember to remove the draft template when closing! (Talk to me!) 03:52, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

A confession

Hey Camenati, I have a confession. It’s that I was a bureaucrat on another wiki (Scary Logos Wiki). Not anymore though because I retired from that wiki. So, I have a question. Look, I’m not trying to make an RfP, nor am I asking for moderator, but if you were an admin or bureaucrat on another wiki before and made an rfp stating that, will you be able to become a moderator? I’m just curious. (Talk to me!) 23:53, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

You can bring that up but it is important to use examples and the things you have done on that wiki to raise your credibility. Camenati (talk) 23:55, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks! (Talk to me!) 23:58, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yet another request

Can you block my old account (Kbcars123)? It used to be my main account but it has been since abandoned, and my current account is my primary account now. Link: User:Kbcars123 (Talk to me!) 04:20, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

In situations where an account has been abandoned and seen no usage for a while, a block wouldn't be necessary and doesn't serve much of a point, unless if it is to prevent block evasion from a currenlty banned account. Camenati (talk) 07:39, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
ok (Talk to me!) 15:20, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

About the move

Are you guys gonna migrate everything? Like talk pages, open RfCs, the files, etc. Also, is my signature gonna save? And my edit count and contributions? (Talk to me!) 15:53, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, we're planning to do that, though there are some that will be difficult since they are not on MyWikis such as the forums and some extensions. Camenati (talk) 15:55, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok (Talk to me!) 15:56, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Final question about the move

When does the migration start? I need to know so that I can sign up again on the MyWikis wiki. Note that this is my final contribution on the WikiForge wiki, I will start contributing again once we move. (Talk to me!) 15:51, 10 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Btw click this link to figure out how to migrate: https://panel.mywikis.com/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/19/Importing-content-into-your-wiki.html (Talk to me!) 16:00, 10 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yet another question

I have cleaned up and completed this draft: Draft:Global

So, can I make it a mainspace article? (I am autoconfirmed) (Talk to me!) 23:45, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Before making it a mainspace article, you have to ensure it follows editing guidelines, including descriptiveness, for quality control. From the looks of it, the draft doesn't look ready. A lot of sections are not specific and redirect heavily. Camenati (talk) 00:59, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Why is it not ready? (Talk to me!) 01:08, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please re-read my reply. I briefly explained why on the last sentence. Camenati (talk) 01:19, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok (Talk to me!) 01:48, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
One more thing: I don't see any redirects and unspecified techniques are vaild (Talk to me!) 16:13, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have spotted a redirect: "Same as the Dark G ID" in the 8th ID. Gilby1385 (talk) 16:17, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh ok (Talk to me!) 19:27, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Final question for now

How do I become a writer? Many users on this wiki are writers, and I was wondering how to become one. (Talk to me!) 02:56, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Good question. I don't really know what particular permissions that role gives. I am aware most autoconfirmed users have this role, though. Camenati (talk) 03:10, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh ok (Talk to me!) 03:11, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

HELP!

I am trying to remove section misuse, but the stupid filter says I am adding visualized text!!! Why!? (Talk to me!) 00:26, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

The line contains the color template ({{color}}", which you have to remove. Camenati (talk) 01:18, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I removed that, but it still says the same thing (Talk to me!) 01:23, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
There's one more use of that template. Camenati (talk) 01:27, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Thanks by the way, since I just removed all of the color templates and it worked! (Talk to me!) 01:29, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yet another question

So, I want to add a page about the video game company Anivision, but here is the problem: The ONLY game that the logo appeared on has a title that is against my religion. Am I allowed to put the term "So-called" or "What they call" next to it? I don't want to type something that is against my religion without these terms. Here is the link to the information about the company: https://www.mobygames.com/company/3588/anivision/ (Talk to me!) 21:45, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

It's an unneeded term for an otherwise informative article. Camenati (talk) 21:47, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't know if I can make it if I don't use that term, because all that does is make me cause a sin in my religion. (Talk to me!) 21:49, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you're not comfortable publishing that page without those terms, do you think you can just take out the word you have trouble with and I can add it in for you? Camenati (talk) 22:13, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
That’s completely fair. (Talk to me!) 22:14, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just made the page: AniVision
Now, can you add the word I am having trouble with? (Talk to me!) 23:00, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

A question

Hey Camenati, I have a question:

1. When adding a language category on video game logos from countries outside of English-speaking ones, can I only put "English-language logos" category? Because, their video games were in English. Take Ubisoft Entertainment, for example, the company is French, while their games are in English. Does that mean only the English-language logos category be added, or both the English-language logos and "logos from other languages" category be added?

2. For the OSCA-related part, is it allowed to have the programme its own page even if only its breakbumper is found, while the full intro of the programme is completely lost? Here's an example of a breakbumper of an Astro Hitz chart show Hot 30 Hitz, aired from 2003-2009: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgRv_7cR6oA
As you can see, only the bumper is preserved, but not the intro. What do you think? (Talk with me | My contributions) 09:24, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

1. Using the language categories, I would say is more complicated than the country categories because you need to put extra research on which language the company might use. There could be one where they originate from Country A, yet primarily speak a language not native to the country. Are the primary languages used by the company English AND French? Then I believe they both should be included. If it is just the former, then only that can be present.
2. Yes, I believe so, as it does involve the programme's logo in some way. Camenati (talk) 06:00, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

I was just wondering

Just curious, but why do you have to request an account rather than just make one? It takes quite a bit for the account to be approved. (Talk to me!) 05:26, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

That is now enabled only in emergencies from now on. The extension did have a lot of issues that made it harder for users to register.
But if I have to answer this question, it was to check to see if the users followed account guidelines (e.g. no sockpuppetry or disturbing off-site behavior, not underaged) before registration. Camenati (talk) 06:09, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok (Talk to me!) 06:40, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
