Background

Vídeo Colección, S.A. was the European Spanish branch of The Video Collection. They released videos from 1987 until at least the end of 1990.

Logo (1987-1990)

Visuals: Same as the 1986 The Video Collection logo, but the end result is different. "the" is removed, leaving just the red box with "Video in it, while the lines are slightly altered to instead form the word "COLECCION".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Same as the 1986 The Video Collection logo.

Audio Variants:

  • On some releases, an announcer can be heard. Translated from Spanish, he says: "Don't hesitate to join the millions in the world who "video-collect", and thanks to us learn, play, laugh, cry and know now what to do with their free time. Video Collection: a new concept on video is born to you. Thank you for your confidence."

Availability: Appears on Castillian Spanish VHS and Betamax releases from the period. Much of what Vídeo Colección released was similar to that of what its UK counterpart offered up.

  • Appears on many Hanna-Barbera and Ruby Spears cartoons. Casper and the Angels and Yogi's First Christmas are two example.
  • Appears on a few DIC cartoons such as Care Bears and Inspector Gadget.
