Background

Founded in early 1986, VICO is a VHS distributor company that produced over 130 VHS tapes. The company soon closed down in 1994 on foreign markets.

Logo (1986-1993)

Visuals: The sequence starts with a live-action footage of a beach with waves crashing onto the shore. We then see a 3D model of the company's logo spinning and zooming out, which is the word "VICO" in gold with the letters "V" and "O" having multiple cut stripes inside. As it's spinning, the footage fades away, revealing a bkack background. Multiple rays emit from the front side of the logo, and once the logo faces forward, the rays rapidly dissipate. A gray shadow fades in below the logo along with the "®" symbol on the top right corner.

Technique: A combination of live-action and simple 3D animation.

Audio: The sound of the waves and birds at the beach sequence, then fading out into a low whoosh. Other times, an announcer can be heard talking through the logo, obscuring the sound effects (as heard in some advertisements).

Availability: Seen on Hungarian VHS tapes and advertisements from the company.
