Background

VTI Home Video was the video distribution arm of Brazilian film and television distributor and dubbing company VTI (Video Interamericana Ltda.). It was created in 1985 and became the official distributor of Thorn EMI Video, Vestron Video (up until 1988, when LK-Tel took over), ITC Film Distributors Ltd., Weintraub Entertainment Group, among other companies. They also had a sister label named Video Network (named after VTI's film distribution arm), who released titles from Manson International library, among others.

1st Logo (1986-1991)

Visuals: A 3D blue cuboid is hovering over a blue map of South America against a dark blue grid. The camera zooms out from one of the sides of the cuboid and spins around it while going up, until it's facing the upper side of the cuboid. The grid with the map then shrink down to fit inside the blue rounded square shape, shifting the animation into 2D. After that, two parallel blue lines come from each side of the screen, stopping right under the square. In between the lines, the letters of "V T I" appear in blue; and under the lower line, the words:

VIDEO
INTERAMERICANA
LTDA.

appear also in blue. The logo then shifts to the left of the screen. Three increasingly small circles - yellow, orange and red (representing the sun), land on the right side of the screen; where a drawing of the Sugarloaf mountains fade in, and right under the words "VIDEO NETWORK" appear.

Variant: After the trailers, an abridged version of the logo containing only the 2D segment plays, with the only major difference being the word APRESENTAM appearing right under the Video Network Logo.

Technique: A mix of 3D and 2D computer animation

Audio: A funky synth track with sound effects highlighting movement in the logo.

Availability: Can be found on Thorn EMI or Vestron releases in the country, such as Re-Animator. It can be also found on Video Network's releases such as Night Vision.

2nd Logo (1991-Mid 90s)

Visuals: Against a purple-lit grid and an orange background, a bunch of 3D metallic shapes land on the grid forming the back of VTI's logo. This is followed a blue-tinted map of South America fitting in an equally shaped hole, and then by three 3D bars with the words "VTI" (upper side) and "HOME VIDEO" (lower side). As this all happens, the camera swings from a bird-eye view to an angular view of the logo; now before a purple-blue gradient where the grid once was.

Technique: 3D computer animation

Audio: A metallic clang, followed by light piano strokes and static noise, culminating in a synthesized fanfare.

Availability: Seen on later releases such as Life of Brian and Night of the Living Dead.
