Background

Venus Film was a film production company from Egypt.

1st Logo (April 12, 1951)

Visuals: Set on a black-white sunburst background, there is a stylized Venus de Milo on top of a blank black pedestal and in between two shiny concentric rings. A set of stacked text containing the company name in Arabic and "كمال الشناوى" fades in the middle and zooms in for a brief time before stopping. Lastly, "تقدم" in Ruq-ah script flips into view from the bottom and sits in front of the blank black pedestal.

Technique: Practical effects and chroma-keyed effects.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.

Availability: Seen on Master Bolbol.

2nd Logo (August 31, 1981-December 12, 1983)

Visuals: Over a red background, there is a white "V" composed of two long, symmetrical parallelograms with an outlined sketch of the Venus de Milo on top. Below is the company name with "تقدم" underneath it.

Variant: On Love is Not Enough, there is a ball of light in the middle with various RGB rays in front of the logo.

Technique: A still printed image.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the film.

Availability: Seen on Love is Not Enough and The Venal Gentlemen.

3rd Logo (April 1, 1985-January 2, 1989)

Visuals: Over a red background, the same white "V" with a white silhouette of the Venus de Milo on top with a white star on top and a ring of white lines around her is seen in between the company name similarly styled as the first logo colored white, all with "تقدم" in white underneath the "V". The logo zooms out for a while before stopping in the middle.

Variants:

  • On The Man Who Sneezed, the logo appears closer and the Venus de Milo silhouette along with the elements around it is smaller.
  • On We're All Thieves, My Dear, the logo appears still and closer.

Technique: Camera-controlled animation.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the film.

Availability: Seen in The Man Who Sneezed, Oh My Country.. Ah, and We're All Thieves, My Dear.
